Emissions Question

ok had my 99 gst smoged today and it passed but on the test it says Egr system not ready ive searched and read but im not finding any information. any info is appreciated.

Not ready is refering to the obd II monitor readiness status. on obd II vehicles the ecu runs tests on all emmission components to make sure they are in working order. it just means that the test has not run which doesnt neccesarily mean something is wrong with the egr valve. hope this helps

This can happen for a variety of reasons. You've probably been driving it since any possible ECU reset to give the system the right parameters to test the rediness state. More than likely it's because of a fault in the system. My EGR worked fine until I took it off, then later put it back on and it refuses to show ready.
