Emissions.... none in my state.. want to eliminate from car!!! help please

i just have a few quick questions before i take out my emissions in my car...
1)will it hurt gas milage
2) how much power will it give me from basicly stock motor with a supra smic 5-10hp or so
3)is it safe will i be killing my cat or anything like that by doing this
4)does anyone have a walk through on this all i see if a pic of the emissions removed doesnt explain much

1) Yes slightly
2) Some
3) Not safe for the environment, of course but other than that, ok.
4) Best I've seen is http://www.taboospeedshop.com/emissions1.htm but that's ppetty much a pic as well. It's easy to do though.
