want to trade my car....help

ok what im wanting to do is see if you all think i would be able to trade my car with all mods straight across for a 2g awd turbo, preferably a 97 gsx. the engine has about 50k on it and theres 111k on the odometer. car runs great but has a slight boost creep problem. anyways let me know what you think my chances are. thanks

I doubt anyone would want to trade their 2G GSX for a 1g, especially a Laser.

The Laser IMO was the ulgiest of the bunch. Most people with 2Gs really love their looks. The 1Gs are very basic.

I love my 1G Talon. The look is very clean and sleeper. The steering is tight, the suspension is tight, the brakes are tight, the chasis is tight. I also have prothane motor mounts, so thats tight. I have an ACT 2600 with makes the clutch stiff. Everything about the feel of this car is tight, rough, and stiff....I love the car.

Mitsu made the 2G too soft. The steering is too easy/soft. The suspension is too floaty(factory), the doors are too flimsy, ect. The 2Gs are too soft IMO, but they have it in the looks department.

I favor 1Gs, but I am not a fan of the Laser because of the exterior trim design.

I doubt you going to find anyone with a 2GSX to straight up trade....they would be taking a big hit book value wise.

Maybe if you were AWD and had a fully build motor and trans, a nice clutch and flywheel, injectors, FMIC, ect.....but I don't think there is enough done to yours to make someone with a 2G want to trade.

For a true enthusiast you will be hard pressed. FWD to AWD is great but the other way arond would take a long time to find a person willing to do it.


As for the Laser, those are pretty sought after by the hardcore guys. They are the lightest of the bunch and most people do not buy the 1G as a stock street ride unless they are hard pressed for money or are young looking for a first car.

If you were AWD, you might be able to find one. I personally think that you will have a hard time finding someone to step backward to a FWD if they already have AWD.

No one will trade a 2g 97 GSX worth 7 grand on a bad day for a FWD laser touching 2 grand.

The mods are worth almost nothing unfortunely.


A turbo bigger then shaq's head running 11's might give you a slightly higher then slim chance.

I dont know, I was looking to sell/trade my car for a 2g also, but i'd take fwd or awd..

ud probably have a better chance looking for someone to buy ur car for a high price maybe around 3-4 grand and finding a 2g gsx thats cheap (and spending a couple grand).....as they said, i highly doubt anyone would trade their 2g awd for a 1g

I think he is right though, Try selling all your mods, then get stock ones, sell the car stock.. you should have a good amount then, then just add to what you have.
