So i have been looking at the eagle talons for quite a while i have always wanted one so i was looking on kijiji and i bought a 1997 talon tsi awd for 3g. Its 5 aspeed clutch does need adjusting. The guy said it needs nuthing for saftie which it didnt only tires... But the problem is emissions... I took it to a local emissions expert and he got codes coming up for the o2 sensors and something to do with an idle sensor. When the car is idleing it revs around 800 rpm for maybe about 2 mins then drops to round 500 rpm. I didnt think anything of it cause i thought
Maybe it just got warmed up and idled down. But after it was idled down for 3 mins or so it revved back up to 800rpm. And continued the rpm change process. Just curious if this has happened to anyone else and if you could send me a link with parts and prices... Or maybe just a wire loose??? Not to sure any info would be amazing thanx.

Start with the basics. Start with a tune up (plugs, wires, air filter ect.) change the o2 sensor if it needs it, then do a boost leak test. That seems to be the most common cause of irregular idle issues with these cars.

What were the codes the computer came out with? I am not aware of any idle sensor on any DSM, or any car for that matter. There is an idle switch built into the throttle position sensor...

Ok i was planning to do a tune up. ( plugs wires ect..) i was just curious about an idle controll modual cause i had a truck that needed a new IAC module witch made it idle down.. Lol i will have the results tommorrow and i will post the codes for you to have a look. Thanks for replying so fast
