hey ijust picked up a 97 tsi and been doing normal maintnance on it. i changed the plugs and wires oil willbe tomorrow. but my question is when i go and drive the car when im starting to accelerate from first to second its almost lagging and when ill go to a stop sign sometimes when i throw it to neutral the car will bog down all way and almost stall out and then come back up to a grand. is this a boost leak ? or maybe my watsegate psi is set to high? any help would be appreciated thanks

Only one way to find out.
IC Pipe Tester

What specific mods do you have? How much boost on what injectors? Sounds like an unrecirculated blow off valve or a IAC going bad. Could also be a boost leak.

it has 550 injectors turbonetics wastegate. fmic, bov. aftermarket cams and manifold. the car has been sitting also for a couple monthss in a shed too i was gonnna run seafoam thru it b4 i change oil to see if that helps a bit. it also has awalboro 255 fuel pump and injen intake

the guy said the boost was set at 12 it has no boost gauge yet im waiting for it to come in along with a boost controller and what does iac mean?

Make sure to get an upgraded AFPR to run with that 255 fuel pump, as you could be overrunning the stock regulator and running rich as a result. Does that injen intake pipe have a tube for recirculating the BOV? You will want to do that or you will be running rich when you let off the throttle. That seems pretty consistent with how you say it wants to stall out when you drop it into neutral.

alright no it does not have a tube runnig from intake to bov ill try that out and no boost gauge the guy had one but it couldnt come with the sale so i picked up this nice swoosh one off ebay for like 50 bucks new and a boost controller should be in sometime next week. im gonna try the hose and also do a boost leak check to see if its leaking anywhere. the car itself isnt on the road yet bc im waiting for my registratino and new plate to come in then i have to get it inspected and emissions so i hope it pass with exaust. also on my down pipe there was a bung hole and it wasnt plugged so i plugged it up and it gave the exaust a more like turbo sound to it instead of it being loud. should there be another 02 censor in it or is it being plugged fine?

on the o2 housing? or the actual dp, and yeah get a recirc. tube asap, and for the love of god do not hook up that mbc before the boost gauge and before you do a boost leak test man, and with that 255 as stated before make sure you have an aftermarket afpr or else your asking for trouble

its on the actual downpipe and yeah i know boost gauge is first thing to go in dont wanna mess with the boost controller til i know its not leaking my car should b at like 10 psi stock so im hoping the boost gauge is here by tuesday and as far as the intake to bov do i just connect a hose from intake to the bov?

does anyone know where i can get a diagram of some sort to recirculate my bov bc i cant find any good ones.

thanks casey
