I removed my bumper and headlights to do some painting and just re-installed my bumper. I turned my car on and it did not sound good. It felt like my car was getting no power and then the "Service Engine" light came on. The only thing I can think of that is wrong is a disconnected wiring harness next to the driver's side headlight wiring harness. It is black and I took a picture of it and circled it below. The gray harness to the left is the headlight harness. I've been looking all over and can't find a place for this black harness to connect to. It must of disconnected somehow when removing or reinstalling the bumper. Please help, I'm struggling to be ready for a show tomorrow.

I can be wrong but that looks like the connector to the stock fog lights. mine looked just like that but had a pink center section

It's not the fog light harness. The fog lights are working. Just talked to someone with a 2G and found out the harness is suppose to be disconnected so it isn't the problem. My car makes a really sluggish, power-loss noise when I start it. I don't know what to look for... Any ideas on where to start?

i just went out and looked on my 2g and that same plug is just sitting there not plugged in to anything...so i dont think that is your problem, start looking elsewhere

Any ideas on where to start? My car makes a really sluggish, power-loss noise when I start it. I don't know what to look for...

i too found that harness while poking around...still no clue what it goes to, been disconnected since i bought it and trouble free so far...but curiosity drives the question "what exactly does it go to?"

Did you disconnect your air sensor? That's the only thing I can think of that did that in my car.

Not trying to be a dick, but what exactly does a "power-loss noise" sound like?

It looks like it's running on 3 cylinders. It sounds really rough and shaky. I just checked the spark plugs and none were burnt out. The wires/coil pack are brand new and it's run fine since I've had them. I tried to read the trouble codes without a scan tool but nothing came up. I disconnected/reconnected my O2 sensor in the front as well as the battery. Is there anywhere else besides in the engine bay to check if my O2 sensor is disconnected?

Problem solved. Mitsu is running great! Apparently it once some connection issue with the spark plugs or wires. One plug had oil in it, but it has always been like that. I did put a new gasket in. I think maybe a wire got loose over time.

So it WAS running on 3 cylinders! :thumb:
