Hey, i'm pretty new on this site. I am rebuilding my entire car from scratch, and i was wondering if anyone knew exactly what i would have to do to elimiate all my emissions stuff on the car? I have found a few info on some websites, but it doesn't go into detail on it much. If anyone has any info that would be great.

so you want to pollute the air i breath for a few extra horse power thanks. and yes it is very debatable even with dyno sheets.

my buddy is pulling a much higher vacuum at idle with all the emission stuff off. but is it worth it that a big question, i still have standards no matter how little morals i have, the small sacrifice is worth it

as an single person you will say my help has no effect, which is true to a certain extent, but when you combine every one else you do have an impact on our enviroment, sorry if i am holding the engineering cold of ethics but it is true one person may not make a difference but if a bunch of people pitch in it does help. the USA accounts for the most emissions factories, power generating plants etc. other countries are pissed because we account for the most harmful emissions but we do the least to help it. as attending one of the top engineering schools in the world and being at the top of the class help pitch in for a good cause.

we are already being brain washed by the schools to design crap that is more energy efficient. because no matter who you talk to they will say there is going to be an energy crisis in the next 15 years if we don't get our selves in gear. as for the people who say we are going to run out of oil BS thats not going to happen in our life time. we are just not going to be able to keep up with the demand. we can only pump so much at a given rate, which is the same affect of running out of oil keeping up with the exponental demand is going to be a huge problem in 15 years and thats why we are trying to figure out new ways to produce energy more efficiently, hybrid cars for example because a 3 phase motor is hugely more efficient than a gas engine.

unless you have a 100% track car don't pitch in and be the cause

sorry for the broken grammar but if i cared i would be a liberal arts major

I removed the emissions plugs off my harness for several reasons...
1. It is an engine swap into a COMPLETELY different car. (89 Conquest Baby)
2. There are no emissions laws where I live.
3. Most turbo cars are low poluters anyway.

While this is all personal preferance, I also simply did not want to spend weeks in a junk yard piecing togeather a funtional emissions system then retrofitting it into the car.

In actuality, removing the emissions system is less than 1% increase in power, if anything.

My gawd, save the drama. I did mine simply to make the engine bay a little less cluttered and I had a failing EGR valve. As for a power increase, don't hold your breath.

There are a few good reasons to do it.
1. Less vacuum lines to deal with (meaning less leaks to worry about)
2. No EGR to fail.
3. Cleans up the engine bay. Not alot, but these bays are cramped enough as it is.
