eliminating breathers, can it be done?

i was wondering, there is a breather on top of the valve cover that goes into the stock intake, and then there is one that goes to the intake manifold. can you just connect the two together and forget about it, or is there a downside to this? i wanted to do it when i saw this picture.

Eek, no don't do that! The pressure has to be let out somewhere. The popular choice is to use a catch can that can vent. Check out RRE's:

Uhh, looks to me as those are "Teed" off into a catch can/fuel filter setup. NO you can't circulate them together, it would be bad bad.

^^^Ah you are correct, I didn't see the black line. I thought that white spot was tape or something.

The OP makes it sound like he just wants to connect them to eachother. That's a no-no, a vent of some sort would be needed, like in the pic or what I suggested.

you think its ok to put a breather filter on the valve cover nipple and cap off the intake hole?

I have an evac type setup I built for mine, but you can definately cap off the intake manifold nipple. I suggest just getting a catchcan setup as stated above.

my cai pipe doesn;t include a hole for the valve cover breather so i went down to autozone and for like 9$ i got a breather filter, its like a mini cone intake. put it on the valve cover breather and there is no problems

what do you guys think of this, it does not have a filter on top. but neither does the greddy one.

as you can see, they both do not have a breather on top.

o ya your guys are right about the picture i posted, i thought that white thing was just a piece of tape as well, sorry.
