My egt guage when I start the car, goes crazy, hovers around the right temperature but moves so quick back and forth around it (+/-20*to30*) so fast you can't focus on the needle. I have tried a different ground and a different power supply. Any guesses on why this won't read solid? It is the Autometer procomp ultralite. I can hit the brakes and then the guage may work for a bit...

wow. i have the same gauge with the same problem. time to email autometer.

Wow, quality huh?
Email them, I emailed them now I have to scan my receipt and send it in for a replacement probe.

I have an Autometer Sport-Comp EGT gauge, but never used the autometer probe. I had a similar problem using a Westach probe, it started doing it after about 1.5 years. I replaced the probe and everything's fine.
