EGT Gauge problem.

i just received an egt gauge in the mail today but i noticed that the needle was set at 100 degrees. is that alright. when installed, would the needle adjust itself properly?

It should fix itself. When I bought my boost gauge (used) it read somewhere on the vac side but once hooked up, it worked just fine.

and when you turned your car off did the needle go all the way back down instead of reading vacum when there really wasnt any?

Everything went back to normal.

but you know what i just reallized that maybe its reading temp because if the room temp since it is an egt gauge. im not sure. do you think it might read temp just because of the exposure to temp? i might need some advice from someone who actually has an egt gauge.

I just recently installed my Defi EGT yesterday and a new radio a month or so ago. So, I just tapped the ignition wire to the one over the radio plug. If you look in VFAQ or somewhere in Tech articles radio wire chart, but I believe its the red w/ black wire. Basically, its the power wire that becomes live only after turning the ignition key on.
