EGT gauge problem

It started to happen out of the blue the gauge will tweak out then the needale will just sit on the bottum of the gauge, I checked the sensor on the exhaust manifold it came out and it was loose so i tightented it up a bit but nothing. Could the guage and the hole setup be worn out? has this happen to anyone else? also it autometer

How long have you had it? Might be due for a new sensor. Did you check all your connections? I.E. ground etc..

yes. Do they sell the sensors at any place that sell them kind of gauges? BTW i love the look of your dsm

Yeah the EGT probes are downright finicky. They go out frequently especially in a hot running car like a DSM.

Thanks I'd give summit racing( 1-800-230-3030 or 1-330-630-3030,http://www.summitracing.com/) a call, they should be able to tell you what part # you need and if they have it in stock. If anything get the part# for the replacement thermocoupler and shop around for the best price. Good luck

When I had an EGT gauge, this was due to crappy wiring. Check over it again before you drop the money for a new sensor.

I agree, its better to double check everything first then to blow your money and figure out that ground wire was loose.

I had a problem with an Autometer EGT gauge. Whenever I would start the car, the needle would go up quick then fall to the bottom. It was due to a bad gauge, but mine was brand new and it just wasn't calibrated right. Not sure if that would be it or not
