Well, I was out driving to Krogers today and when I got in to leave the store my car wouldn't start. I pressed down on the clutch (like always) ,turned the ignition and if my memory serves me correct there was a slight fizzle sound and nothing. Tried to start it up again to nothing, the car doesn't make a sound when I try to turn the ignition.

This has lead me to believe it is either a problem with the battery or a fuse. So I tested to see if it was the battery by having someone in the parking lot jump me off. Nada, car didn't make a sound even after a good 5 minutes of juice flowing into the battery.

For my final test I decided to see if the front headlights would come on. I turned them on and got out to see if they were working. They weren't but what I did find is that there is an electrical sizzle coming from the fuse box. I removed it but I haven't the slightest how to remove a fuse or how to check if one has busted or not.

Does it sound like the fuse to you guys or am I going in completely the wrong direction?

I would first check the battery cables on the battery, both for tightness and signs of corrosion. To check the fuses, you can either use a test light/multimeter on each side of the fuse or pull them out 1 by 1 and make sure the metal inside isn't blown. You may have a bad starter though, you can try hitting it with a hammer on the solenoid part of it and seeing if that helps. The best thing to do would be check to make sure the starter is getting power from the battery while you're trying to crank it.

Yeah, I'll check the fuses and the connection to the battery today and see if anything changes.

I just really hope it isn't my starter though I'm pretty sure that isn't it since the whole car won't power and the starter would only keep the car from starting.

I'll post an update ASAP.
