Electrical Power Loss

Hello All,

I did a search for this topic and read all of the results but my issue is a little different.

My Car: Mitsubeastie 97 GSX, The Hotness!

I have a new Optima Yellow Top Battery with Deep Cycle since I don't drive the car
maybe once or twice a month if that.

Anyway I had to Jump the car this morning...
That went fine and the car powered up and I assume the battery was energizing.

Well I turn on the radio and notice when I pressed the brake the radio would cut out.
My other systems stayed on... only the radio.

Anyway the engine shutdown.

Well I tried to jump the car and now nothing will energize no lights no power no dash
test lights... nothing..

I checked the fuses, all seems well.

Again when I do the umbilical to another car none of my systems will get power.
It's almost like there is a cut wire.


I’m will do a volt test tonight to see if any voltage is going through the system.
I just find it odd that 10 mins before when I jumped the car before it at least
powered up under the umbilical from the other car's battery...

What could have happened?

If you have dead cell in your battery then go buy a new one. You cant diagnose an electrical problem if the heart and soul (battery) is junk. A bad battery can do some really weird things to a car.

The issue was that one of the main power lines had come uncrimped.

The volt meter showed that no power was getting to the fuse box at all
testing each of the 3 main lines we found that no power was flowing.

The Battery was sending out 11 volts (weak but not dead).

Took off the pos terminal and found that one wire was no longer
connected. to the 10 gauge hoop.

That was fixed and all is well. I have included a picture of our discovery
in hopes that will help others.
