So on my way home today all my lights started to dim and the car started to chug so I pulled over to the nearest parking lot and shut the car off and it wouldn't start like the battery was dead so I figured it was probabaly the alternator so I had it towed home and pulled the alternator and had it checked and it passed and was right where it should be so I threw the car. On the bat charger and it fired right up so now I'm thinking its the battery but after this I went to roll the Windows down and they would only work when the car is started also the other accessorys are doing the same thing I need help.

it sounds like its your alternator

o sorry didnt see where you said you had it checked try making sure all your terminals are clean on the alternator to and check all the wires or you could probably have a ground somewhere

If they only work when the car is running then I am guessing it is something with your battery. Especially when you talked about them only working when the car is running. Check the terminals and maybe try a different battery if you can.

Alternator is good I put a new battery in and its still doing the same thing

The car starts right up and runs great but no acessories like interior lights blower motor powet Windows or power locks work unless the engine is running

I had this same problem for MONTHS. New battery, new alternator after alternator. I would venture to guess its the wiring of the alternator. My problem went away when I wired my alt straight to my battery with wire(2 gauge maybe? dont remember) and an in-line fuse. My guess would be that. Check the connection between wiring harness and alternator!

Well I discovered that it was the 80 amp alternator fuse I couldn't really tell last night so I took a piece of wire and jumped the terminal and now everything works its just gonna be a pain on the ass to track down this fuse.

I got the fuse at advance. Just one more lesson in automotive- always test and don't just guess.
