I tried hooking up an aftermarket electric temp gauge with the temp wires under the hood. The small sensor gave me a reading of 140(the stock gauge is at normal temp) and the big sensor gave a reading of 300 and now my cel is on. any idea of whats wrong??/

its a ractive and i bought it new. it has the sending unit just figured i could use the old one but guess not so i will switch it out tomorrow.

Just a piece of advice, i dont know how your thermostat housing is setup, but on mine, i wanted to keep the factory gauge working so i took out a plug in the thermostat housing and put the gauge sender there so that and the factory gauge worked.
