Toronto,
From what I have been told WB o2 is much more accurate, but people seem to be using EGTs and tuning it using that. Money is kind of an issue but if its REALLY worth the money, i would invest in a WB o2...

So is it? or should an EGT suffice?

TIA

You can now get a wideband for the same or less than some EGT setups. well not with a gauge but dataloggable wb controller..

EGT... Educated Guess Tuning.

I would definitely get an EGT before messing with tuning.. you need to know when you're getting too hot for your own good. Wideband O2 is a great gauge for tuning - but I'd rather have warning meters before it's too late..

A fast reacting thermocouple still has some lag time...

Get the O2 and if you use it right you wont get EGTs that hot anyway.

The only gauges I have are a liquid filled mechanical auto meter pro comp boost gauge and a electronic fuel pressure gauge..

Yes Wideband would be answer as stated above. I tried using a datalogger or egt & was not ideal. vs what the dyno wideband results gave me. I averaged 12.1 when I went but was still off. do not get a blinky a/f meter not acculate very well. you could try going to a local dyno that has a wideband. the place near me was like 120.00 a/hr which could be a option for you.

but yes as stated above . its strongly best to have (BOTH) a egt gauge and wideband before adjust fuel.
