i noticed some change in the opperation of my greddy egt gauge since i had the water pump and timing belt changed at the dealer. when i turn it on the needle doesnt even move then at idel it hovers around 3-400 C, it seems to show temperaturs corectly but im not sure.

what should a the idle temperatur be? could the sensor just have gone bad coincidentaly?

-Check for broken wire, loose pin(s) at the connector. when mine went bad, it was bouncing around 300-500, it turn out the ceramic insulation near the end of the probe has a bend causing a short, I got a GReddy replacement, but heard someone did use a generic K or N type probe and work just fine, generic one is much cheaper.

thanks i think you may be right, the odd thing is, it will go up during acceleration and cruising, it seems like the egt throught the whole rpm range droped down 100 degrees C or something

-Try to have some one wickle the wire while the motor is running to see if anything change, if there's an intermittent short, the needle will go crazy.
