1G EGR CEL

A friend of mine is getting a CEL for his EGR valve, is there anyway to mod the ecu to get rid of it? He removed the egr and put a blockoff. He said someone told him that its a California ECU I dunno if that helps. Its a 90 TSI awd.

If you get a custom ROM, it should be no great feat to have one that ignores the EGR check. There are several sources of ROMs for 1Gs, and you could even move to a DSMLink setup and get a lot of features to boot.
