EGR blockoff. Leaks?

Hi guys, I'm wincing now because I expect to get some flak over this one.
Anyways, when I reinstalled my engine, I got rid of all of my emissions stuff, including my EGR vaccuum lines. I was planning on making an EGR blockoff plate, but never got around to it. SO, I have no lines running to the EGR valve, but no plate in there either. Is this a bad thing, or is it a neutral thing? I'm a losing boost, or letting in EGR gas, or what's going on there?

If you have the egr valve installed and no vacuum lines running to it the egr valve will act like a block off plate. when vacuum is applied to the egr valve that is what lets exhaust gases through the valve. since you have no vacuum running to it it will stay closed. Eventually if the valve gets weak it may start to let some exhaust through. If this happens you will have a crappy idle or the car will not idle at all.
