So i purchased the EGR block off kit from CI motorsports, and installed it about 3 weeks ago. I have been hearing a sound while driving in upper RPM's when I let off the gas. It sounds like a Leak of some sort, I thought maybe exhaust, so I replaced the exhaust gasket and that did not fix my problem. The noise is definetly driving me crazy. Does this noise come from the EGR blockoff kit since nothing can escape now? Please help, what else could it be thank you!

Well, when you drive in high RPM's and then let off the gas your vacuum is usually real high. Somwhere around 25hg if I'm not mistaken. My first assumption from your explanation would leave me to believe you have a rather small vacuum leak that is of course increased and made noticeable to you once the pressure is greatly increased. Chances are, if it was not happening before the EGR blockoff install, and is happening now. Then thats probably where its coming from.

sounds great guys, ill check into the both of them and let ya know what I find. Thanks for the info!

Eh, not far from true, I guess. Although it'd help if I were in a free (or, crooked) enough state to be allowed to do any mods.
However, in the case of EGR, it got a bad rap in the seventies when the smog meanies decided we had to cobble-up an afterthought retrofit system and choke the motors of the day with it. At least it made STP richer, and sold tons of aircooled VW valves.
Modern EGR schemes are more help than hurt, and eliminating it does nothing for performance.

and it also removes that hot a$$ recirculationg tube thats known for burning up so many wiring harneses. ;)

IMO that is the single greatest benefit to removing the EGR on a 2gnt. That can become a horrible, horrible problem for us.

thanks for all the help guys, I havent really checked it out yet but I will as soon as I get time

with a friends assistance, we finally were able to locate the problem, its a problem in my tranny.
