Hey guys I was just browsing the web in search for an eprom ecu so that I can get a good tuning tool... oddly I cam across something called ECU+ from machv motorsports, and it says it requires no eprom. The program looks ok, probably not near as good as link or the ostrich/tunerpro, but the fact that it wires straight in has me thinking about it.. Just wondering if anyones heard of it or is using it? Also, on a quick note I have happened to find a 95 eprom ecu but its a GSX..... can that be used for the Gst???

Thanks :thumb:

I've seen it on MachV's website but i dont know much about it. As for the eprom it should work theres no difference between awd and fwd ecu's. Only difference is N/T and Turbo ecu's.

I have personally been reading up on ecu + for close to 3 months, just haven't got the money together to go through with the purchase. For me it came down to what my expectations were with my car. I don't plan to ever go any bigger than an evo 3 16g, so it seems to fit my needs well. The only downfalls seems to be the limitations on injectors bigger than 780cc. Ecu + has a full forum for problem assistance, just like dsm link. Read more info comparing the two here.

Thanks for all the input, its still a tough decision right now between ecu+, ostrich, and dsmlink... Heck my just get an AFC for the time being and save a little bit....

I have ECU+ and have great success with it, if you keep current with the website, Tom the creator has just added more to the software.

Also, I would like to clear something up Ecu+ is sold by MachV but was created by Tom Collins. Tom created everything and also does all the programming, he's a great guy that has created a great system.

The only reason I would go with ECU+ over DSMLink is ECU+ has provisoins for a MAF Translator so you dont have to do any tweaking to it at all. Its what DSMLink is trying to do right now with their program. It would probably save you money to go ECU+ too depending on how much you can get an Eprom ecu for. It doesnt matter fwd/awd/auto/manual Eprom Ecu they all work :thumb: just my 2 cents

ECU+ is a great system to use. I am currently tuning with it but am in the market for something else. If your goals are right around or less than the 450 WHP mark it is more than sufficient, and has some really good features. It gets kinda tricky to controll anything bigger than 750 cc injectors but if you have modest goals this thing works almost as well as the link will, or so I've heard. I did all my own tuning with it and it is very easy to use and very user friendly... I'm just looking for something a little more simplified. I don't like always haveing to play around with the tune for this and that. You do need to know how to use dos systems to use the pgrades and you have to wire some things yourself... but if you can do those two things it is a perfect system for someone whos no going to crazy with a build.

My friend Jon bought Ecu+ in October we couldn't figure out program the fuel and timming charts we did the rest like log in the injectors etc. No luck at all he has 650cc injectors with 190 fuel pump. What the goal was is to have the car run stock under normal driving, then at WOT have the injectors run at their 650cc level. If someone has done this can they shoot me a PM. Thanks

Nick

That's not going to do anything for you, you can not just have the ECU+ take over when ever you want. The way your thinking will not net you any power. Just tune it using the fuel and timing maps the way you would with any other EMS.

Silvermitsu is right it is a very pwerful machine expecially with the upgrade Tom just released. Any EMS is worth it if your upgrading, the ablility to tune is everything when trying to gain more hp!

I bought ECU+ and its very easy to tune with, and it wasn't that hard to install, though for it does have a plug and play for 2g's i think, so you don't have to do any wiring. I think ECU+ is very good for the price and considering all the features you get with it, i personally thinks its better than DSMlink.

Ill take another swing at it tomorrow, but right now it doesn't like to hold an idle or stay running, driving to see if we can get it over 3000 RPM's is not fun it breaks up and chugs along. If you have any pointers that can help that would be awesome.

I went to their site and couldn't find anything on the rev limit.

It looks like 7500rpm is the limit based on the fuel and ignition tables, where 7500rpm is the last row?
