ECU went bad, WHY?

The ECU in my 95 GST is malfunctioning. It is hanging the #4 injector wide open all the time. I have tapped into the ecu to hook up an a/f ratio guage....it works fine.

Do ECU's occasionally just go out or do I need to investigate a problem?

what evidence do you have that the ecu is holding an injector open?.....possibly it's just a bad injector.

I too lean more towards injector failure rather than ECU...the changes are rare that the ECU fails...even more rare in 2nd gens.

I had a mechanic run a check engine light solver. I would not read the check engine light because it read an ecu faliure. He also said #4 injector is stuck wide open!

Early 95 models had eprom ecus likr the 1st gens and the capacitors will leak on the circuit board if they are not replaced in due time. Why the injector is stuck open is definitely a mystery. I'd like to know what you find out about that.
