What Temp sensor went bad?

I noticed the other day that my GS wont turn on a fan to help cool it at idle. If I turn the heat or A/C on, both fans will kick on, but they turn off as soon as I turn the blower off.

Is there different sensors for the temp gauge and fans? Or should I get into the habit of leaving the blower on if the car is idleing for any length of time? Or... what sensor should I replace?

Yes, temp gauge and ECU (controls fans) have separate sensors. They are both by the thermostat (rad cap). The temp gauge is the one with 1 wire, the ECU one has 2 wires. Sounds like the ECU one is bad or has bad connection (unless your engine just never gets hot enough). Turning the A/C on forces both fans on.
