yes check vfaq.com so you can change 2 wires around look there it will tell you exactly what to do , pins 6 and 14 check it out.

ok so ive got the new ecu, however i cant seem to figure out exactly what green and green/wehite wires need to be swapped.

Also does anyone know if this is a dsm ecu?

Also how can I tell if the wires have already been swapped I mean after the swap the green wire should be where?

No that is not a DSM ECU. Some searching returns that it is a 1990 Mirage or Galant 2.0L SOHC, automatic ECU and has since been superseded by MD161181: ECU Part Numbers for DSMs

Pin 6 is originally green with white stripe; pin 14 is originally green. That means after the swap, pin 6 will be green and pin 14 will be green w/ white: 1G ECU Pinouts

Interesting, that Galant ECU was in my car the whole time, im surprised it started honestly if that were the case.

As an afterthought, it may have been possible that the cover was switched with one from a DSM; that is to say that using the part number only is not a great indicator in determining what ECU you had. Here's what it should look like (non-EPROM). The big giveaway for a turbo ECU is the white rectangular board with black dot on the right side; this is the knock board. It makes sense to assume that, since non-turbo 1Gs did not have knock boards, that other cars around that era that were not turbo will also not have this:

You do have a valid point.
Ill have to double check that ecu.

After the swap, the car runs good, but im getting a code 14 now, and my stock boost gauge doesnt work anymore.
Any ideas?

I dont know i double checked the wires over and over, spliced a green with a green/white and vice versa.
I hope i didnt get the wires wrong. anyone else ever have this issue?

Injector 4 is the closest one to the throttle body correct? ### thats what I double checked the pin out with in relation to the position of where injector 4 was on the ecu pin out.

Here are the symptoms
-Stock boost gauge no longer works
- cel code 14, tps
- idling around 1000

All i did was swap the ecu, and retape some wires under the hood.)

And im the type of person that hates seeing that cel light on.

Its a 90 eagle talon tsi awd manual, and I just swapped in a 92 gsx manual ecu
