i have a question, i need to learn how to remove my ecu because they're charging me $108 at the Mitsubishi dealership and someone told me that it was alot cheaper if you do it yourself. they also said that it takes about 5-10 minutes, depending on ur model. so if anyone can help me out by explaining to me how to remove my ecu in my 1991 eclipse gsx or give me a site where i could get that information (without having to buy it) i'd really appreciate it. thanks -steve :thumb:

ok

your ecu is located in the center column standing on end behind the radio.

take off the lower trim running along the bottom of yourcenter console
take off teh smaller trim blocks that block access to the back of the center console from teh floor boards.

take out your radio
you can now see the ecu

notice the bolts holding it to the substructor of the center console, remove bolts
remove wireing plugs from bottom of ecu (all different sizes, no need to worry about them)

pull out ecu in your hands
