Whats the best way to go about removing an ECU from a 1g. Do i have to remove the center consule or can i get at it from the side?

Ive known a person to take it out from the side but he had his 1g with weird mods, so you might not want to go that route because of taking the chance with the trim and possibility of the brace being in the way. Always do it the most obvious way, taking out the console will give you a lot more room to work with and a lot less to mess up. With all of the relays, connections and moving parts back there you really shouldnt take a chance with it. Id say spend the extra time to remove the console and know the other stuff didnt get touched.

Better to be safe then sorry bud

Take off the side panels, then the panels that cover the shifter cables, one phillips screw on each side, next remove the single 10mm bolt holding the ecu bracket on the driver's side and the 2 10mm bolts holding the bracket on the passenger side. You should be able to reach underneath and unplug the ecu then carefully slide it out the passenger side.

I think the bolts are the other way around, 2 on the drivers side and 1 on the passenger.

The rest was good. :thumb:
