I just bought a used jdm 6 bolt motor for my talon. My car is an auto which has the smaller injectors, smaller turbo and different cams. The motor I recieved is out of a standard transmission car. It has the bigger turbo, injectors and different cams. The motor is going into the car this week. My question is will I have a problem with the ecu.

I remember back when I first joined this site. Back then I could ask a question and get an answer. To bad it seems those days have past. This is the second post that have not recieved an answer on. Maybe my questions have become to difficult. I sure hope someone on this site can start helping again. Sorry if this sounds rude, but it is just how I feel.

Calm down if you wait long enough the answer you seek will come. You just have to wait until someone that has knowledge on what you seek. Most people here like to give definate answers on things and not guess wheter something will work on not.

Now to your question. As long as you have the right flex plate it is a direct bolt in. As far as using the at ecu with the manual engine you can and it will run fine but you lose some power out of it due to the fact you will run pig rich. Trust me I ran that exact setup when I did my swap. You'll want to either get a manual ecu or a afc unless you have a eprom ecu then you can go with dsm link to lean it down to get the power out of it your supposed to have.

Yes you will have a problem with your current ecu from your auto 6bolt because it still thinks that you have stock 390cc injectors etc...

You can either get the correct 5spd turbo ecu eprom or non-eprom, or if your ecu is in fact an eprom ecu you could get the old eprom chip removed have the ecu socketed changed out for your 5spd turbo eprom chip which works with 450cc injectors etc...

As "Gs Dewd" mentioned if you dont get the correct ecu for your car, you could get around this with things like i.e. ( safc, dsmlink(which would entail having an eprom ecu to begin with and getting it socketed with a dsmlink chip) maf translator.

Also try doing a search next time when your question wasnt answered immediately, i can almost guarantee that their is alot of info on differences on turbo auto and turbo manual ecu's you could of easily found your answer by simply doing a search

I still do not understand why a person will ask a specific question and get a reponse like try doing a search next time. You may almost guarantee an answer, but you can not guarantee an answer to the specifics of the question. :beatentodeath:

Now that I have thrown my fit.
Thanks for alll the help guys this is just the info I wanted. :thumb:

Sorry if I have been rude I have just had a lot of bad luck with my car so far.
Since I purchased it 8 months ago, I have replaced the ecu( got ripped off by NAPA for $800.00), had the tranmission rebuilt for $1200.00 and am now replacing the motor for $1900.00. A lot of money for a $1700.00 car.

Your correct you are definently the one who is " beating a dead horse" because you could of easily searched and found out this information, we told you what you needed to know and i just brought up the fact that you should take advantage of the fact you can search for the information you require to answer your question, sometimes people ask questions and they dont get answered immediately -just be glad that we took the time to help you. hope your project goes well, and good luck to you.

Once again....
You asked a specific question and we answered you, so i dont see what the problem is.
