Yesterday, I decided to take my safc2 out, because I had a buyer and I already had a chip from dsmchips. Everything on the safc2 was zeroed out so it was doing nothing to my knowledge. So I took it out and reconnected the green wire with blue stripe back to the way to used to be before it was cut. Connected that and started the car. Starts without a problem, but it's missing. Sounds like I have 290 cams or something rediculous. The check engine light pops on and so the only thing I can think of is o2 sensor. I look down at the wiring and notice that there are two white wires somewhat bunched together with this wierd metal covering somewhat looks like a freyed wire, but it goes on the outside of the wire. The connection didn't look so good on there and sure enough it came undone when I touched it. So the problem now is there is the one white wire coming out of pin 4 on the big connector keep in mind my car is a 92 laser so we dont get it mixed up with a 2g. Since there are two white wires that were bunched together and look like they go there are both connected or is just one of those two connected to the ecu? I tried a combination of that last night and didn't have much luck at all. The only thing I did was reconnect the green wire with blue stripe and tape off all the cut wires that were spliced in. So If anyone could give me some information on why my car is doing this or possibly which wire goes where that would be awesome. I dont have a picture at the moment so this makes it a little harder.

Update: Went through each wire that the safc2 was hooked up to and tested the connection. Each wire makes connection to the connector that plugs into the ecu. This was a pretty long process. We also tested the wires that connect to the mas. Pulled the wires out pretty far so it was as close to the fuse box as possible when we checked the connection of each wire. We are all still confused. Of course check engine light comes on saying air flow sensor and just idles stupid and runs really bad. Barrowed another mas, but it did the same thing. Seriously running out of ideas. Possibly another bad mas? Just seems odd it went out just like that. Other idea is ecu. It shouldn't be bad it's a brand new rebuilt one from about a year ago. Any ideas? This is extremely frustrating.:beatentodeath:

Can you post the pin #'s of the wires you are talking about?

When you install a SAFC you physically cut the wire from the MAS to the ECU and route that into the SAFC. Are you sure you reconnected that wire? What reading are you getting on the logger if you select airflow? Other than that, all the other wires for the SAFC are just tapped into the ECU's harness. Well at least they should be.

I sent off the computer to get checked out and that's perfect. So All the connects are correct according to the way they were tapped and the only wire that was soldered back together was the maf wire. The data logger says 0.0 for the maf. Sound relatively simple something isn't right either with my maf or something. Any ideas? Dont know how my maf would just go bad like that. All it did was sit for 2 weeks.
