Yesterday I was driving for about ten minutes from my home and my check engine light comes on. I drive back home to read the error codes using a multimeter. It says that I have 4 faulty sensors.

13-Intake Air Temp. sensor-IAT
14-Engine Coolant Temp. sensor-ECT
21-Throttle Position Sensor-TPS
25-Barometric Pressure Sensor

I only had time to test the TPS. It tested good. If this one tested good and the engine light told me that it was still faulty, I was wondering if this would mean that I have a bad ecu

The ecu's in 1g dsm's can be somewhat problematical, and there are several failure modes.

Before condeming it, I would do a power and ground check on the harness side of the affected components. If there's power and ground being supplied to the component with the key on, and the components check out correctly, then you could be having an ecu failure.

If there's no power or ground available on the harness plug, it's time to check fuses and grounds.

Otherwise, to check the ecu, just remove it, and open up the case. Please use care on the case screws, you really only get one chance before the screw heads cheese out. (I use a slot blade screwdriver that fits the slot part of the screw tightly). Look carefully at the board around the capacitors, if there's any black spoogy goo, or a funky smell, the board will require very likely require repair. Try not to touch the board itself, as static discharge can damage it. Just hold it from the edges, and you'll be fine

Good luck, and let us know what you find.
