ECU hardware or software?

I just installed my laptop running XP in my 1g eclipse DSM. Would there be some sort of ECU hard or software i could purchase or download for my laptop? If so it would be great if you could send me a link. thanks

For logging or tuning? For logging you just need a cable. Find one on ebay, a nice one is around 25 bucks. For logging software, I use TMO Log on my 1g, I also have played with mmcd and pdyno with the Palm emulator.

If you want tuning, look into EPROM tuning. You can either use Tunerpro to tune and burn chips with a burner (burn2 from moates.net), or you can tune with TunerproRT and use an emulator (ostrich from moates.net) for real-time tuning (meaning you can tune with the car running).

yeah im lookin for a loggin one i think, because i have the laptop under the seat with a 10" screen where the radio goes. and i want a program to like like horse power curves and all that while im driving.

You want it to "look like" horsepower curves? Or actually show them? As far as I know, you won't be able to actually show them, unless you get one of those things that record g forces and whatnot.

As for logging all of the rest of the stuff like 02 sensor readings and whatnot, a cable running MMCD with a palm emulator should do the trick...

Does your laptop have a serial port (DB9)? If it doesn't, you are going to need a logging cable, null modem (PCH Cables), and keyspan usb to serial adapter (usa-19hs is the part number). Then you can download a palm emulator and MMCD and log via your laptop (http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-tuning-ecu/200445-palmos-your-laptop-no-more-needing-batteries.html).

If you want to tune, since you already have the laptop in the car, your best and cheapest option would be to modify the stock ECU code. For this, you are going to need an EPROM ECU, get it socketed, buy a chip burner or an Ostrich (allows uploading bins on the fly, well worth it, and definitely recommended, Welcome to www.moates.net! : Moates.Net). You can use Tunerpro to modify the stock bin if you want to keep the MAF, or you can convert to speed density and go with Jackal instead.

And one more thing - horsepower curves? You aren't going to find a program that does that for one, and honestly, that would be pretty useless anyway, so there would no way of making it accurate.
