is it possible to get an ecu number from the vin number? it is a 95 eclipse rs....some of the ecu numbers ive seen for this model start with md, the one ive got starts with a p

The numbers I listed were for Fed-spec Eclipse RS's. P5269653 probably corresponds to M05269653 which was superseded by M05269729. I'm showing that those numbers are for a Cali-spec Eclipse GS. I didn't realize you were in California until now.but that does not go with any of the numbers i have, P5269730 is the one that was in the car when i bought it it failed so i sent it out to get rebuilt...i did not get my original one back...when i installed it the check engine light came on when i started it i have returned it to the company at least ten times , some of them would make the car die when you turn the ac on, some would idle high for ten seconds or so after letting off the gas but all had the check engine light on with codes 12, 55......P5269653 works fine, no check engine light so i figure the cars ok, what i want to know is which one is right for the car i think the 653 ecu is for a gs... mine is an rs
That might have something to do with it, but I really have no idea.it was originally sold in Florida went to New Jersey then to ca there is a software update sticker under the hood if that makes a difference
