Heres my contribution to the community :)

So, if your like me and have stupidly messed up your usb cable for some reason, you came to the right place!
I was bummed when this happened, i ordered a new cable just incase this didn't work, but i tried it, and it DOES WORK!

Tools needed:
Soldering iron& solder
Wire stripper
Heat shrink

Step one. Chop off the old broken usb end.

Step 2, strip the wires, remove steel wires and insolation you will see 4 wire colors

Step 3
From ecmlink, the order of the wires is
Red , white, green, black I'm not sure if other usb cables that you will chop into will have the same colouring, but in my case, it did!

Step 4
Take your old spare usb cable and chop the end off and do the same as you did to the v3 cable.

Step 5
Now strip each small wire on both your v3 cable and your new usb end

If your lucky they will match up.
Step 6
PUT YOUR HEAT SHRINK ON NOW!
(I always forget this one)

Step 7
Twist the corresponding wires together and solder them together individually.

Step8

If you are smarter than me you would put individual heat shrinks on the individual wires first :) electrical tape will do.
