May be a dumb question but will ecmlink and ecu from a 1993 work on a 90?. I have a 93 with link on it and a buddy wants to scan his car for codes because it dose not run. Could i just swap my 93 ecu with link in his 90 lasor? Thanks

You can do it but is it worth it to troubleshoot your buddies car? Refer to this thread... 94 ECU swap in a 90 Believe it or not, its in the VFAQ articles on this website.

the problem is that when you pull the ecu and install another one, it's not gonna read codes right away because the memory clears when disconnect the power. you may have to crank the motor over a few times to get a code to come up

Thanks. It endid up being the capacitors on his ecu, and a bad ct sensor. IT worked good just had to run the car a bit to find the ct code. I didnt search because I was in a big hurry.
