Hi, I'm trying to help a friend who has a 96 eclipse with the N\T 420A. Will 4G63 240cc injectors fit and work right?? Also his car has a bit of a problem with the ignition, will a 4G63 N\T ignition work?? His car runs a bit bad and it's like his ignition just calls it quits at about 60mph or when he punches the gas. What could be his problem?? ANy help will be greatly appreciated!

The injectors will fit, but i'm not sure if they will require a resistor to work or not. As for the 4G63 ignition... No, they are completely different, we have a distributorless igintion. You can test out the injectors and coil to make the voltage readings are correct. As for the cuting out, that sounds like fuel cut.

thanks for that info. will a regular voltmeter be enough to check the voltage readings and see if they are working correctly? Also, he said that he changed the fuel filter and checked everything for leaks, and when he changed the spark cables the problem was a bit relieved but it's doing the same thing now. How can he check if it's fuel cut?? Thanks!

Make sure he is using NGK copper plugs gapped correctly, and that he is not leaking oil into his plug wells. Test the coil, check for 12v at the B+ terminal, check cam alignment, FP, and vacuum.

A 2gnt can use just about nothing from a 1gnt.

As for the 4G63 ignition... No, they are completely different, we have a distributorless igintion.

The 4g63 NT also uses a (different) distributorless ignition. The 1.8 has the distributor.

I'd be surprised if a N/T was hitting fuel cut. Does that happen much? Also, is it the popular consensus that the N/T's best choice is copper plugs? I know they work the best for the 4g63's, but wasn't sure if that's the best bet for the 420a's. Just wondering myself.

A crapped out MAP sensor can cause fuel cut, but this does not happen much.

NGK coppers are what the 420a likes best, just like you 4g63 guys.

Stock inj. Will go a long way on a n/t. The 4g64 will fit with a little modification. But I highly doubt that you need bigger.

If you have a way to control them, yes. If not, your car wont run very well if it does at all since the ecu thinks they are stock and it will flood the cylinders with fuel. If you use them you will need to wore in a resistor.
