aight my 95 eclipse has nothing but problems since i bought it, but almost everything besides the block and head itself has been either rebuilt or replaced, and bout a week ago car started actn funny for a few days then just died, charged battery ran for a few mins died, thought it might be alternator or starter or short or something so took it to shop, Wiring Harness Melted.... and thats all that was said, car got towed back home and here it sits. So im sure ecu is fried and dunny how bad or to wut extent the harness is ####ed up but mechanic said he wasnt gonna work on it and it would cost a good penny to fix and he recommended to just junk it and get new car, well miracle happened and i have new car but i want the eclipse back and running.

So any advice from any one wiser than I? This happend to anyone? Could it be done bymyself and some of my other semi mechanically and electriacally inclined friends possibly fix it ourselves with new harnesses and ecu? Professional aid Required? Blood Sweat and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ has been spilt into this car and i really dont wanna C it go plus i mean... its a GSX come on!!!! =(

Sounds like you will need to extract a wiring harness from a donor car. If you've got the time to do it slowly and CORRECTLY, go ahead and fix it. Take your time and get it done right. I know other people have replaced every piece of wire in their car. If they can do that, you can certainly install a new wiring harness, it may not be fun, BUT it can be done. Please tell me you will keep the car! Like you said, its a GSX!!!!

Here's hoping you don't work on cars as stupidly as you type.

Bolt down your battery next time, and keep the insulating cover on the positive terminal.
