One of these days someone is actually going to do this :coy:

I've seen pictures of this completed and installed. It was a few years ago and I can't remember where I got the pics. No further details were available.

on the "no one would be interested" topic... this thread has already seen almost 1,400 hits in 4 days. :thumb:

in the end he made more power with a evo 3 16g

Twin turbo WTF , people the speed limit is only 65mph on the highway. If the car is your daily driver what is the use of twin turbo? wouldn't it be less reliable with 2 turbo's?
just my 2cents.

your motor

^ ^ ^ That doesn't appear to be the set from Post #44.
its not i couldn't find the original thread
but it was another tt set up and in the end one evo3 16g made more power

Well i know that i'am not saying anything here that hasn't been said already but, i just like to say that this TT setup is just ganna be a waste of time. Its all about displacement. There's just no way that your ganna spool up two turbo's on two cylinders with having only two liters to work with. Even a 2.4 won't do it. There is a good reason that you don't see any TT setups on anything less than a 3.0L engines. Now i am all about trying stuff out but, you just got to think about it logically. Its takes 3500rpm's to 4000rpm's to spool up a good size single turbo on a DSM now thats with all 4 cylinders pushing air. Now you try and, spool up the same turbo with only 2 cylinders its just not ganna happen. you might get some boost at 9000rpm's on two cylinders but, your ganna kill your engine doing so. I don't want to be a nay sayer but, you just got to think about this logically. I mean you can wish and, hope that it works but its just not ganna happen. Its like trying to jump the Grand Canyon on a tricycle. You dont have to do it to know what will happen. Now i dont want to say anything bad about the Ferrari mechanic that wanted to attempt this but, him being a Ferrari mechanic doesn't say much about his skill and, knowledge. A monkey and, a blow up doll can do this.

["Ganna". Isn't that in Africa? ]

FERRARI!!!F40!!! I will put any ferrari part on my car i could!!
it's just a kkk turbo, probably left over from someone that went with the bigger LM spec turbos sinceth stockers are pretty small.

A few years ago I heard rumor of electronically assisted turbos coming into the market that would start making boost at just above idle. Has anyone heard anything more on that? It would be one hell of a nice setup. I just wonder if you could do a simplified duplication by adding a high rpm fan to the intake somewhere before the turbo. Maybe in a line going to the air filter box... Pure speculation of course since I doubt such a fan, if it exists, would be cost effective.

do it hell why not then when some one says is that turbo. you get the joy and pride of say no its twin turbo. ROFL thats about the only reason id do it but shit it be sweet what turbos would he be putting on. what mods do you already have? the f40 whats that a v12 /v10 ? and he wants to do this to a 4cyl eclipse 1g. id think he wouldnt wast his time with even touching your car. being the prices he must get paid to work on the f40

actually the f40 is a twin turbo v8. he stated he was using the twin turbos from a f40.

Check SAABs, and I believe it was a Garrett turbo. I'm too tired to hit the Google.

Not necessarily. The 3rd gen RX7 is a twin turbo and it is basically a 2 cylinder. It can be done correctly, but I wouldn't waste my time or money on it. If you were using (2) relatively small ball-bearing turbos, I would think a 2.4L could spool those decently. But if you have a couple of massive channel bearing turbos, there's no way they are ever going to work efficiently. Do you have any information on the Ferrari F40 turbochargers?

Except that the rotary engine has a three combustion cycles every rotation of the crank per rotor. A four cylinder four stroke motor has one combustion cycle per rotation. Hense the ability to spool two more one large turbo.

It's not that it's a two cylinder or two rotor etc, it's a way more massive motor from a power stand point than a 4G63 is. It's easily able to spool huge turbo's and twin turbo's with ease. A street port plus a T78 and you can make huge power. A T78 on a 4G63 is laughable. Basically there is no way to compare a rotary and a 4G63 it's just apples and oranges.
