Well, my neighbor down the street is selling a 1990 eclipse gsx the main issue is that it needs an ECU chip I'm not going to beat around the bush I'm a complete newbie when it comes to cars... The question is this, where can I buy an ECU chip for this car I've looked around on google etc and I haven't come up with too much so I was curious if anyone here consistently buys/sells these to give me a bit of help.

try jeff at dsmchips.com or i think there is a guy on here doing them aslo i try to find it

Does it need an ecu chip or the whole ecu? The only way it would need just a chip is if the ecu was socketed for a chip and it was removed for some reason. Do you have any more details or information from the owner about this issue?

agreed. id say it is the whole ECU..shouldn't be too hard for you to find one though. Good luck!

1g ECU's are readily available on craigslist here. How does he know it needs an ECU? What are the symptoms?
