Hey just wanted to put this in quick. I bought a T3/T4 turbo from a company on Ebay less than a year ago. When I bought it they told me it came with a one year warranty.[ Seemed to good to be true.] Well the turbo failed and now the company isn't on Ebay anymore, but they are a real company. I contacted them and told them the problem and guess what. They are sending me a new turbo. Cool huh. The reason for this thread is to tell some others about emotorusa.com. They are good people and they offer a one year warranty just like some of the big turbo companies. If you are in search of a cheaper turbo check them out. Thats all I have to say. Thanks:thumb:

I would just like to give everyone a heads up on what I am going thru with EMOTORSUSA Turbo I purchased on the 12 of July 2013. I was in need of a turbo fast and my turbo I had on the Eclipse failed. The engine is built and is putting out 500 ish hp with the Garrett .60 a/r cold and .63 hot side at 30 lbs. My turbo failed because the guy I bought the car from liked the antilag too much.
I installed the EMOTORSUSA GT3582C turbo on the 16th. I ran the car 220 miles home. I ran the car 20 more miles on the 19th..it started smoking so I parked it. I called and talked to Frank and he said sure he would warranty it. I take off the Turbonetics cas alum tube on the inlet of the compressor and found chips out of the compressor blades. I sent pic and I was told to send them the turbo...I need one now so I give them a CC # so they send one out fast. They call and leave a message and say they can't do that unless I wanted 2 turbos. I remove the turbo on the 26th it ships on the 29th they get it on the 31 and inspect it. They say they won't cover it because that turbo dosen't have a warranty to cover those parts that were damaged...then they said it wasn't used normally. Then they said they would rebuild mine by the end of this month because the parts to rebuild it have to come from China...YEA CHINA NOT USA!!!!!!!
They reason the turbo ate it's self was because of a burr from the holes that were drilled for the antisurge compressor housing. 7 days of operation and 240ish miles on it and it failed. There warranty clearly states...

" If a part was successfully installed, went into service, and then failed, it may be eligible for warranty replacement. You must report to us through our email within 14 days of the failure, we will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Parts that are covered by a manufacturer's or our Store's warranty may be returned for exchange for like product replacement. Refunds are not issued on warranty items.":banghead:WTF

This is the first line to the warranty disclaimer:
"We are offering basic three months store warranty; Some parts are covered by manufacturer's warranty which may be longer than store one; If customer would like to buy longer warranty, please contact [email protected] for the quote on individual product

I have called them every hour today just to be told the mechanic will
call me back, I then am told to wait for the owner Sean and all I have gotten is >> :argue::argue:
I will keep everyone posted and I am going to get the parts for my Garrett.

You don't need to keep us posted. The only real shocking revelation you could've shared was that a sweatshop turbo survived the shaft speed needed to make 30psi even once.

That people are still buying and using knock-off turbos on ebay and expecting anything other than your experience in 2013 is what's amazing.

The trouble is our cars love high boost. Ebay/china turbos cranked up to high boost will never last. There are no quality parts in them.
On a NA car going turbo pushing 6-8 lbs, they might last a couple years if their lucky. I know V8 guys tend to like certain ebay brands, since they cant turn it up past 6 lbs before their HG or bottom end goes, but thats still enough for considerable gains.
Bottom line though, like said above, if you try to rock a cheap turbo up in the high boost range, youll save money on a broke turbo, but it will cost your motor.

My cars running an "EvoIIIGT" @ 18 psi, been on for at least the 25k since I've owned the car for that long. And the PO before me said he didn't touch a thing... he didn't even know what a 16g was. I would suspect its been on at least 45-50k miles.

Not bad for a $250 turbo.

From what I understand though, is these were made to spec for a while then later runs were complete rebadged chinese knock offs. Is that correct? Either way, when she blows it will be completely rebuilt with mhi parts.
