Ebay turbo help!!

DO NOT put that on your car... I learned the hard way that those wastegates are WAYYYY out of adjustment. I threw a rod in the gf's car from the wastegate being set wrong. If its adjustable then adjust it or you WILL be sorry.

LoL I am a dumb ass and yes I am applying vacuum!! How to I make this thing push air opposed to vacuum!! LOL! Anyways I have a stock turbo with no shaft play thinking that might be a better route. Thanks for the words of wisdom :thumb:

My mity vac isn't special enough to do pressure :( ! My air compressor does however have an adjustable regulator that when set at 20 it opens the wastegate! :)

I had a genuine evo 3 16g that the shaft snapped on after 2600 miles, got a never installed cxracing evo 3 from a buddy threw it on, and it's still goin strong 14,050 miles and if it wasn't for the 57 trim I just bought it would stay on until it blows if even does LOL

Wow, I may actually think eBay turbos are quality pieces after reading your story....if I didn't see things like this on a regular basis:

Sadly, I've seen a handful of eBay turbos outlast PTE turbos on daily drivers.

I think buying turbos off eBay is not a crazy bad idea as long as you buy a brand you know like garrett or holset. I would never buy a "turbocharger" unless it was backed with brand name parts.

I dont understand why people still continue to buy these ebay turbos. It has been proven over and over that they are complete garbage.

I bought a factory turbo off a different car. I figure they spent tons to make it dependable. Sounds good to me. I got an ht18s-2s
