Well an intake and some bulbs are fine. Just please dont start asking if their turbos are any good. ROFL

you might have to replace those in about a year or less, thats usually the life of those HID kits on ebay, might as welll of bought the good ones and make them last for alot longer, but thats my 2 cents, that is how long they last for me and a couple other buddies

LOL i wouldn't ever buy a turbo off of ebay. but for under 40 bucks i couldn't really get wrong with the lights and replacement bulbs are only like 12 bucks. the only bad part would be is shipping if they do go out in a year.

i can agree and disagree about the turbo on ebay i bought one for my 99 N/A that i had and ran it for 2 years before i sold the car and i get back with the guy i sold it to and its still going stong but i also agree most ebay turbos are crap, i got the needle out of the haystack i could say, but replacements arnt that much but yeah shipping could start adding up after awhile

I actually reffer people to ebay when buying an intake LOL a tube is a tube.

But you shoulda just bought your hids off sharphid.com you woulda spent the same amount of cash for a legit product.

I've gone 9.50's @ 145 with an ebay IC kit before.

I've gone 10.60's in a dsm with an ebay ic kit before.

I've made 600fwhp on an srt4 i built 4 years ago, with an ebay turbo.

As with ANYTHING, You'll have some people say good things, And other people say bad things. MOST of the people who post bad things, Have NO experience or real world hands on experience with the parts they bash. It's all '' I heard through a friend of a friend" type of cases. Then when you call them out, They say " Well, I woulden't want to be the one testing the parts anyways".

It's hit or miss, I guess. As with anything you buy, From anywhere.

my thoughts exactly:thumb:

i bought a cold air intake and these lights off of ebay. no complaints. i just needed change the filter on the intake.
So you bought an intake, but the filter was garbage so you ended up replacing it. Glad the piece of tubing that you bought has left you ultimately satisfied. :rolleyes:

eBay isn't bad, the wholesale Chinese crap that is marketed on there is, though. They copy designs from actual products, make it cheaper, not as precise, and out of cheaper materials. Just look at the Chinese military's copies of MiGs and other real things. MiGs are pretty much copies of American stuff, then the Chinese go and copy it again. It's sad barely anything is made in the USA anymore.

Ive had an ebay turbo, it sucked. The wastegate was stuck open with no possible way to fix it. Ive had ebay hids, they went out after 5 months. Ive had an ebay intercooler it was good but dont expect the same out of an ebay intercooler as you would from a legit intercooler.

You got lucky with that turbo, but they have been proven time and time again to fail. Now please dont turn this into a ebay turbo discussion.

That should also be said about the vendors who buy ebay parts or have their parts sent out of the USA to be made for 1/4 of the cost, But when the parts return they throw their marking on it, And some stickers in a box, And sell it for 100% profit.

What about stores like tiger japan and jdmtoronto and jdmmontreal that sell on eBay, the parts are not "eBay". Or do those count as the "eBay junk " everyone on this forums talks about

a new filter was only 30 and the intake was only 40 so a decent intake system was only 70 after tax and shipping. compared to k & n what probably would have been a couple hundred. so i guess for brand names the tubing has to be the most expensive part. or just the brand name its self

I bought HID's off ebay but made sure ro get some from a seller with a lifetime warranty. They are not installed yet so I'm not sure about the quality but I'm sure the warranty should help if something like the above poster mentioned about them going out in a month. Also I have a ebay intake with the ebay filter still on, not complaints other then the common problem of it being too long and having to cram it in next to the left fender well. Good luck with the same products I own !

This is about eBay (wholesale) products, not dealers. If I sold a genuine MHI turbo on eBay does it make it an eBay wholesale part? No.

I have had eBay hide in my first Gen for about 3 years now. low beam high beam and fogs with out a problem, I do not have one complaint. And I have about 4 thousand miles on my eBay 16g but I do intend on upgrading very soon to a real Turbo LOL. The 16g has no probably but I just don't trust it lets face it, it is a eBay Turbo.

The stock intake system is plenty good for a 420A- in fact, the only thing I gained by installing an AEM intake on my GS a long time ago was a loss in fuel mileage....so it was removed.

Apparently you pretty much threw $70 down the toilet considering your plans to add a turbo to the car in the other two threads you've started in the past two days:

Pipe dreams.

i personally seen a bit more of low end power.don't know if my stock air filter was old or something.

ya but when i do go turbo i can get some of the money back. i can always resell it for 40. LOL i wasted a lot more money then that.

muffler = 40

cai = 70

header = 50

ill be able to get some money back on all of it.

LOL the reason i posted those. where because i didn't know if i was wasting money or not. i guess i'm learning from my mistakes.:thumb:

Here we go with the ebay turbo bashing again... I bought a car with an E3GT and it was great! It hid all sorts of other problems on the car like the blown head gasket (no boost, no lift!), the leaking valve cover (slung all kinds of oil everywhere). I thought it was just a blown ebay turbo so I paid far too much for the car all things considered. So bottom line, an ebay turbo is a great investment when it's time to sell your hacked up, beat on car. Whoever is buying it will be overlooking all the other problems thinking it's just the turbo... OR! You can just pass on any car with ebay parts and come out much farther ahead.

Ebay!
I call it the Walmart Philosophy.
Some people will buy everything from Walmart (food, clothes, tv's ext)
Some people will buy nothing from Walmart
Some people will buy only things they don't care about lasting (food, dog toys, you know things that won't explode and send shards of metal into your intake)

ps. I'm the third one :D

Wal-mart buys brand name things in huge bulk and that's why stuff is so cheap. I boycott Wal-mart because of their nice little DHS/TSA screens telling you to snitch on suspicious activity, like citizens should be the judge of what's suspicious. Stasi.

Name an eBay part and I will tell you with personal firsthand experience what is wrong with it, why it's so cheap and why eventually you will wish you just got a different one.
