eBay Intercoolers

Looks OK for the price. It's a bar and plate core, so it's efficiency should be good. I think I can see fins inside the core, but it's hard to see for sure. It should have many fine internal fins in order to draw the heat out. The endtanks look like they're cast, you can see the thick walls of the inlet/outlet. At 8" tall you'll need to trim the metal bumper, or mount it lower which will put it in the weeds. I'd recomend it if you're looking for a fmic of that size.

that looks like one hell of a messed up piping setup dude. i actually bought a piping setup off ebay and i regretted it very much. I found that aluminum is a pain in the ass cause it costs just as much to weld everything as it would to make 2 setups out of something else. After i got my piping setup made with that stuff, i had problems with the couplins meltins and just being pieces of shit cause thats what they are. So then i went out and bought all new couplins. So in the end i went to minute muffler, and got exhuast tubing for a fraction of the price and i built my own setup, which i can weld everywhere and even bead the ends for the coupling which makes things MUCH easier. IMO just do it this way i wish i did this from day one.

ive talked to a couple of 1g owners on here with that pipe setup and the core that comes with it off ebay and they have all said nothing but good things about it, other then a couple fitment issues and the UICP not coming with a BOV flange... they also recomended getting the pipes bead welded before you install it.. The only prolblem i had with the kit was the long route piping, and after talking to these guys that had the kit they said spool up and and any psi drop over the pipes wasnt noticable... im thinking of investing in the FMIC myself.... check this one out... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ecli...tegoryZ33742QQihZ015QQitemZ250043876997QQrdZ1 :thumb:

i use that route on my 1g it works great depends on what core and turbo you go with. i would just go with the ssautochrome whole 1g setup

Hey. I wanted to just make this post a reply to an existing ebay intercooler thread cause i know there are a lot of threads about them allready, but since I'm a new member, it won't let me, sorry. So anyways, there are a lot of these intercooler kits on ebay that include core, piping, and a greddy rs bov. It's a no name brand as far as I can see, and I also question to whether or not that's a real greddy (probably not). I've suprisingly seen a lot of good reviews on here about ebay intercoolers (the "how fast have you taken your ebay intercooler" thread has a lot). Anyone have bad luck with one? Here's the link:

Thanks to everyone who responds!

I would not say its a real greddy. The y stopped making them as far as I know.(they lst the patent or somthing.) but overall looks like a good kit. The core looks like the same core as the SSAUTo kits use. I would put a stock 1g BOV on it though because that on does not look like you could recirculate, unless it comes with the adapter. But over all it doesnt look too bad. IMO

The ic piping is wrong, it will not match up to the inlet/outlet of the ic core. It was discussed before in the huge thread here:
http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=237530

The core is good, but the piping is not. You can make it work, but that will require a lot more work and you making custom piping.

The piping that is included in that kit is the one included in the already popular 2g dsm specific ss auto / xs power kit. The bov is a knockoff.

Make it work, and it will work.

Also the flange on the ic pipe is for 1g bovs, you can easily modify it to fit greddy bovs, like most have already done, including myself.

If i were you, just get the specific 2g dsm ssac/xsauto kit. they might not advertise it on ebay anymore, but it is available. the group buy is still on, email deedee from ssac. REFERENCE THE BIG THREAD ON HOW TO GET ONE EVEN THOUGH ITS NOT ON EBAY ANYMORE.

good luck.

wow, that is a huge thread! I just spent awile going through it. Thanks a lot. I didn't realize that I needed to cut the radiator frame for that core. I'll see if I can get on the waiting list for one soon. One more Q, I take it that there is no intercooler kits that bolt up easy? I'd be okay if it wasn't the shortest route if it meant I dind't have to cut my frame. Or do you have to do that for every FMIC? same with the front bumper needing trim? Thanks again!:dsm:

LOL... I have already made a post about this... The IC piping will not bolt up, you will need to fabricate your own piping and that will cost more then the differance between that and te SSAC/XS Power kit... Also that is knock off BOV and it wont even bolt to the flange on that piping unless you drill new holes for it, however I guess that dosent matter because you can use that piping. It is the piping for a short route intercooler but the IC is not short route... there is no way to make the cold side of that piping work, you will have to start fresh and fab your own long route piping.
Here is the SSAC/XS Power Kit (BTW I can hook you up with one, PM me)

See how the short route piping goes...

Now here is the kit you were looking at:

I would advise not buying that kit, you should go with the SSAC/XS Power FMIC Kit.

What is involved in putting on this kit? Sorry that i missed your post before about this.. Believe me when i say that i searched for a long time before posting, but there are just sooooo many ebay intercooler threads. Also, I appraently don't have permission to post in a lot of threads yet, so I had to start my own... And what does the ss autochrome xs power kit run for? thnaks :dsm:

PM me for pricing and other details

I also went to ahead and brought this kit from jdmmoters. All the pipings are wrong and the BOV is greddy style. But I return it and got my refund back

TO whomever has brought the kit and needs their refund back.
They need to speak to Paul the manager and not Calvin the reg. salesman.
Hope this can anyone.

You could always look into getting that core off of ebay (I've seen them for about $120-140 shipped) and buy a DIY intercooler piping kit.

The only reason I'm not personally big on the SSAUTO one is because I don't want to cut a knotch out to get the thing to fit. At least not out of the metal. I can deal with notching out part of the front bumper.

Do a search on the SSautochrome FMIC off ebay. Theres a real big thread on that.

I know thats not the SSAC FMIC, I was just suggesting that he take a look at there intercoolers as well.
