that is really small, i dont think its worth 400$, save up some more and get a big @$$ front mount. or even just get a s upra side mount, the supra one would def flow better then the baby thing

That’s not small it flows over 1000 cfm vs. a supra smic which flows less than 600, I guess you didn't read the blurt about the cooler. I have read up quite a bit on turbo set ups, not just on the forums but in books "maximum boost" and what not and the optimal set up is adding more channels to the cooler and not lengthen them... this one looks like it could produce. and I don’t want to buy a Hahn for 800....

The supra side mount cannot outflow this or any good aftermarket intercooler. Its big benifit is they can be picked up for super cheap and are a good improvement over the stock side mount.

i've compaired this to other kits already made up, and it is a might bit taller , but for the money it flows very well and its a quality core. what do you fellas think? will it fit under my 91's bumber or not??

I've seen this same guy selling 24x6x3 cores in a side to side configuration for cheaper and being shorter might make getting to fit in the bumber easier. I've been contimplating these intercoolers myself, but I'm a little worried if I get a front mount I'll over heat.

1000 cfm is in the ad on the ebay page... sorry about the "bumber" thing ... pretty funny.... but the 24/7/3 flows i think 800... i think thats what i saw.

If you can get it to fit, I think it'll work fine. Those end tanks look pretty tall, though. Many people diss top-to-bottom ICs, but a lot of knowledgeable people prefer them. In theory I like them too, but sometimes fitment can be a problem.

looks like it might work ok, but it would look stupid on your car... just something to think about if you are worried about the looks. its kinda tall and short and doesnt look like it will look good in the front air dam of your car.

that auction had zero performance value in it. why would you want an intercooler from someone who cant even tell you simple things about it such as cfm.

Ahhh!! Attach of the Taiwanese tube and fin intercoolers, Part 2..

Ok, these are descent intercoolers and will work on on 300-400 hp. I tested a 24x8x3.5 (or something like that) and it was 490cfm which is enough for descent HP..

There are companies out there who say they flow 900cfm (we had a post from them recently) and they dont. These companies have never tested them ever and have no idea what they flow which is the ironic part yet they are so defensive about them LOL.. Here's an idea, TEST YOUR OWN PRODUCT THEN YOU KNOW WHAT IT DOES. Lol, what a friggin concept...

Most of these guys say these cores are from Japan, thats because they can not buy direct from the factory in Taiwan where they are made so they buy from a distributor in Japan where most of these guys buy their motors from as well. They just throw them into the container with the shipment that is why you will notice most of these guys sell JDM motors and parts too.

The bottom line is they are OK, and your getting what your paying for. If you think it's a spearco core check again, it's not and maybe 1/2 as efficient as a good core, but still better than using a core from another car like Starion or RX7 intercooler as many seem to do.

Nah, JR is the man. The intercoolers he puts out far exceed anything on ebay, so I am surprised he actually markets his intercoolers through there.

He has a 950hp Pump gas t88 350 chev, and he uses his own intercoolers so I know he knows the deal.

Besides, you can't just look anymore, you gotta know what your talking about to get the best quality intercooler for cheap. This one is a bar and plate style, whitch is superior to tube and fin, but HKS and GReddy kits STILL use tube and fin, and nobody complains about paying their uber high prices for a kit.

Go for it, its the cheapest kit out there that has the best quality!

I personally am not a big fan of that end tank design, with those 90-degree turns in and out. Whether it hampers flow or not, I don't know, but I just wouldn't feel comfortable with it. Sounds like a good core, though, from his writeup at least.

Ive seen his intercoolers first hand and they are excellent quality a great alternative to the overpriced Indy Race Cores kit I have now.

I bought one of these for my car and installed it . You just need to enlarge the holes on the side of the radiator support and remove your ac fan and bend an ac line out of the way . I didnt even need to use any power tools just some pliars and a big pipe . Of coarse I had to use an alan wrench for the supplied hardware and I also needed to put spacers on the throttle body bolts . . I also had to have some blow off valve bolts with nuts as the flange provided with the kit doesnt come threaded . Also I would recomend enlarging the intake manifold turbo pipe flange as the bolt holes where not spaced far enough apart. This is on the intake flange ,not the turbo flange . All in all it bolted up in like 5 hours . It should only take 2 but I was just not with it that day . Oh I almost forgot the turbo pressure sending line to actuate the waste gate is not on the pipe where it need be . You need this or you will blow your motor up . I just tapped into the pipe with a brass fitting . This is very important to control boost levels .

As for performance there is a little increase in lag which should be expected . First and second go by to quick to determine much gain . Third gear however is where it is noticed . Where the car would start to stop really pulling was at 80 mph Now it likes to pull much quicker to around a 100mph . Most noticable differance is from 65 to 100. I havent taken it much past there .

I spoke with JR today, and am going to his shop tomorrow to pick up my intercooler setup. He made me an AWESOME deal on the kit!! I have a buddy who had him do his 95 GSX and he loves the kit also! It is a 5 hour drive ONE way, I wouldn't make the trip if he wasn't legit with his product. I will let you all know how it is when I get it on. :thumb:

I've searched around for a while now and will be buying one as soon as he gets my bov flange. he's answered many questions and with the short route piping and price with a blow through set up i'm excited to get it.
