Hi im new to this forum so id like to say hi!! :) but im looking to get the hx35 turbo i see them on ebay for 280.00 but idk if they are the right one because they are listed as dodge cummings 5.9 truck turbo and i know this has probably been asked before but BEP HX35 Mitsu flanged .55 A/r Exhaust housing EXTERNAL GATE
thats the housing i need for the hx35 right?
and is it better to stay with the stock exhaust manny or go to the t3 and will that housing bolt on to the t3? im so confused with all the information ive been gathering thank you!!

Mike

Ebay, Especially a turbo I would avoid like the plague.
They make look like the real deal, but in person you will notice all the flaws and everything else.

If you have a $800 beater car to play with, sure go ahead and get it. But if this is going on a 2-5k DSM I would not cheap out and get the real deal.

^^^^ he already said it, but I think it should be backed up.

A turbocharger off ebay is a very bad investment. They are of very poor build quality and a quick search will yield a plethora of bad reviews on ebay turbos. Stick to the Mitsubishi OE turbos from reputable vendors or aftermarket names that are widely trusted.

Use an ebay turbo as a decoration or something.

I whould avoid using ebay for turbos and whould recommend extreme psi or tims turbos.

Yes, that's the right exhaust housing. Also don't go to ebay. If you cruise the classifieds you can usually find a nice one that just needs an exhaust housing, or get lucky and get the whole thing.

Just hit up craigslist and find one local or hit up the cummings forums and you can find them super cheap. If you want to use your stock exhaust DSM manifold then you will need the DSM flanged .55 a/r turbin housing...if you want to use a T3 manifold then you want to either a) find a Holset that has a small enough hot side that your car can spool it at a reasonable rpm pr b) buy the Bep Ts .70 a/r bullseye housing.
I hope that helped...I know trying to read through those holset threads is ridiculous.

I know someone who's bought 2 HX35's from diesel forums for less than $100 and turned around and sold them for much more.

Thank you guys :) but im still confused with the bep hx35 .55 and the turbo will i be able to bolt them on with the fmic intake and all other little stuff or is there something im still missing?

Im buying another DSM tomorrow and its bone stock. I am going HX 35 on it and this is the list I have together so far...im trying to get out as cheep as possible since this isnt my track car.

$50 Intake pipe
2g maf or GM Maf with translator (have both)
NGK 7ES Plugs (have a lot of them)
$50 Plug wires
ECMLink V3 (have)
Boost Controler (have) Either Boost by gear or Profec b II
$56 Boost guage
$200 WB O2
O2 housing (have it flanged for tial 44mm)
$150 Downpipe
$170 3" electric cut out w/ Y pipe
$60 Walboro 255 fuel pump
$100 Fuel pressure regulator
750cc injectors (have)
Big Side mount intercooler (cant find them anywhere)
Cam's (I have a fp2 exhaust cam)
$180 External WG
$50 BOV
$250 DSM flanged BEP HX35 housing
$200 aluminum ic piping built locally

EDIT: This isn't necessarily going to be the cheapest way for you to do it. Its cheap for me to do it this way because I have a lot of extra DSM stuff left over from the times I've upgraded my other car.

If its a Used Holset that some one is selling off their truck or something then I would buy it. Just make sure it is a GENUINE Holset before you buy.

If you can confirm it is a true Holset I see no reason not to buy it. . Just make sure you use paypal.

You also sound like you may not know everything you need to know before you go buy a turbo this size. I would suggest you get a smaller "bolt-on" turbo.

Very nice u already are ready to set it up!! :) i know the car im getting has some or most of that stuff he says all i need is the intake fmic with piping the turbo and housing and possible the wastegate not sure just need to know exactly whats i need

We wont know that till we have a full list of everything you have...also not all parts will actually work with all set ups. For example I have a few O2 housings but I only have one that will work with this set up. You will have to connect your external WG (wastegate) to either the exhaust manifold or the O2 housing. I chose the O2 housing because I already had one set up for a WG and I wanted to use my stock Manifold on this car to save me some money. It may be cheaper for you to buy a exhaust manifold that has a WG flange on it then it is to buy an O2 housing with one on it...I would just look for a used on someone is selling cheap and run with it.

Hell even with all the stuff I already had and buying parts used its going to cost me around $1,500...and from what I know from having my other DSM for so long that can turn into $6,000 pretty easy LOL.

yeah LOL its gonna need a 02 housing anyone know exactly where to find that? its gonna need a 4 inch intake anyone know where find that either?and he said a oil pressure reg? it has megan racing coilovers the bottem of the motor is stock it has spearco pistons and a few other things anyone know where to get the 272 cams im guessing i need those the oil feed lines oil return lines the fmic and the bov if anyone knows where to find those please let me know :)

and of course the turbo and turbo housing but im not sure ill need anyhting else but these things im pretty sure he has the fuel pump and injectors in if not ill get those and then just gauges... will i need the dsm link?

yeah LOL its gonna need a 02 housing anyone know exactly where to find that?If you want a new one then look here: Results for o2 Housings they are expensive and you need to get one that fits your WG...I would look for a used one honestly Its gonna need a 4 inch intake anyone know where find that either? If your using a 2g maf then I would suggest this if you dont want to have someone tig weld you one out of aluminum: Forced Performance Turbochargers: FP DSM Aluminum Intake pipe you can find a huge K&N filter on their site also and he said a oil pressure reg?I wouldnt say this is a must have but if you get one I would get an electric one since my mechanical oil gauge lasted only one pull on the dyno at only 400whp it has megan racing coilovers the bottom of the motor is stock it has spearco pistons and a few other things I didn't know spearco made pistons but if they are in your car then your bottom end isn't stock anyone know where to get the 272 cams im guessing i need thoseAgain I would buy a set of used ones but if you want to get new ones here are some nicely priced ones Forced Performance Turbochargers: Engine make sure you dont get the F4r's though because you need upgraded springs and retainers for that the oil feed lines oil return lines I'm not 100% on this because I am going to piece mine together...I'm not sure if they are sold pre made in the correct size the fmic Cheap kits can be found on Ebay and I believe punishment racing has a pretty cheap kit alsoand the bov there are many choices here but I think this is the standard right now EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts you could always get a 1g bov and mod it which is what I will be doing for my newest carif anyone knows where to find those please let me know :)

and of course the turbo ebay, craigs list, dodge diesel forums and turbo housing you can find them cheaper than this but they are all pretty close to the same price EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts this will be hard to find used because they are bought up fastbut im not sure ill need anyhting else but these things im pretty sure he has the fuel pump and injectors in if not ill get those and then just gauges... will i need the dsm link?No you dont have to have DSM link, you can get an eprom ECU and order a chip from Keydiver (jeff) or go even more low tech and get a Safc or Maf translator

Hope that will at least give you some direction.
