ebay headers???

i baught mine off of ebay. Its not to bad, i think i paid around 60-80 for it after shipping. Almost all ebay headers are the same unless you really go cheap. I didnt really feel an increase after i installed it, but if you have a good amount of other bolt ons it should help out some. Id recomend you heat wrap it when u instal it tho, you'll get a better increase and keep your engine bay temps down which will help out alot.

Many people who are NA go with the Pacesetter Header for the 420a and have great results with it. Cheap and fairly durable.

I thought megan or Tsudo would make some good quality headers....shoot even obx might.

In terms of ebay brands, megan then tsudo would be my first choices.....but whatever works.

P.S. I've never really known headers to really increase power, unless its equipped with a cat back and test pipe/high flow cat of the same diameter.
If your gonna get rid of the turblence up top you might as well do it all the way out....remember the faster you get bad air out, the faster you get clean air in and more of it hopefully...airflow is the key to more power.

Agreed. But I currently have some $50 (?) cheapies on and they work fine. I had to grind out the inside at the flange (and I wrapped them with heat wrap), other than that, they work fine.

do the pacesetter headers bolt right on like oem or do u need little mods to make them fit

Pacesetter will work just fine. It will bolt right on and last a good long time. Mine was purchased used something like three years ago and it's holding up great. They don't really add power so much as they modify the power band.

Thats the same one I have, The only problem that I had was the bolts lining up on the downpipe and the header. the flanges on the side arent the greatest but it works. I noticed a difference in exhaust tone and powerband. I think they are worth the money. If you ever plan on going turbo I wouldn't spend a whole lot on a header.

^^^^^ I agree with BigRand and Dr, You might only see 1-3hp through out the whole power band. I,E, 3000RPM's - 5000RPM's. Depending on the type of header 4-2-1 or 4-1. (4-2-1 seems to be the best choice for the 420A) And as BigRand stated above, you want to go, out with the bad air in with the good! Read up on some good supporting mods to go with the header, I had a OBX 4-2-1 on my car after I got rid of my Greddy and other then one being Ceramic Coated they both seemed to work about the same. Heat wrap is a very good idea. I would also look into a CAI, UDP, High Flow CAT (Test Pipe) and a good CAT Back System. That should be a good start. Also first off you want to make sure everything is tip top shape motor wise. New Belts, Tune up and so forth.

yea i got all new belts on it and i got all new fluids, plugs, wires, intake and that jazz. i also have a cat back already so i figured i would get the headers to kinda finish it off. i was thinking maybe a new im and tb next.

Why? What is wrong with your old IM and TB? The aftermarket ones don't really provide enough of any kind of gain to be worth the money. I suggest to just get used to your engine and perhaps rebuild it N/A or turbo. That really is the next step. Just my .02.

I bought the OBX Ceramic coated headers off ebay. Paid $145 for them.

Wow, I haven't seen the ground when looking into the Eclipse engine bay for a LONG time, see my old CAI went the same route as the stock if you knock out that little piece, you can fit the cone in the fender under the fuse box, works like a charm for N/A.
