I'd check around to see if others are running it first. Alot of the cheep Ebay products can look of the same good quality but their actual makup/products used can vary widely. I've seen some cheepo Ebay exhausts that are supposed to be SS stand up fine, while others that are also claimed to be SS rot out in a couple months. For $25, what kind of quality are you expecting to get? I haven't looked into the NT header market but I would figure spending $200 or so on a reputable, comparable product. Then again for $25, your barely out anything if it does only last a couple months, & then you know for next time.

Yeah it looks good, I'd buy it if I had an N/T. I'v bought one of these before back when I had my old N/T talon. Heres a couple small problems I ran into with the ebay header. 1st- there are two nuts by the collector part of the header, ones for the o2 sensor and the others will not be used. The one thats not being used take off the nut and put some lock tight on it and then tighten it down real good. They have a tendency to come loose and if you loose that nut your going to have to fab something up as you cant get another nut of that size, found this out the hard way. 2nd problem I had with it was, it will come with two small long bolts that are used to connect the header to the downpipe. Dont use these bolts that come with it, they are very cheap and will strip out very easy. If you ever have to take the header off for some reason you will be happy you bought better bolts. Just take those bolts to the hardware store and get some new ones that are the same size. These were the only two problems I had when I had an ebay header. I ran it on the car for about a year with no problems, then the car was sold. Also the ebay header I bought was about $100 before shipping.

I wouldnt trust it, c'mon $25? .. quality must not be good, if your gonna install it yourself, go ahead try it, its only $25, but if this is gonna go to a shop to install this might as well pay alittle more and get a better name brand.

"It is light weight and high air -flow design ( 20-55 HP+)"

LOL ..

good luck on whatever you decide.

Check out Ballisticmotorsports.org and click on their "parts" section at the left of the screen...do a make, year, model selection and it will give you tons of proven brands of header setups specifically out there for your talon/mitsu. On a side note...some celica owners I've forumed have bought ebay headers for $60 and $40 to ship and they sprayed them and wrapped them up and were happy with the quality and gains (though they may be small).

i have the same headers ... the generic ebay headers (for 2g 420a motor) there a great idea dont cost to much and it will increase flow but also keep in mind your getting what you pay for and any cat back system will work turbo or non the only cat back system that wont work on a nt is the awd set up. also if your car is non turbo dont go above 2.5 inch piping i have only heard of problems with going bigger.... but do what you will i run the headers a test pipe and a tasudo cat back system and honestly for a 200 dollar exhaust system you cant go wrong

just keep in mind it is ebay (quailty is not always the best) the welds wont be the best and i have heard of the headers breaking or leaking after a year oh and dont use the bolts they give you to connect the flex pipe to the bottom of the header.... mine lasted 2 days before they snapped :talon:

this header and catback is great... i have both on my 99 nt... think about it, would u rather spend 300+ on name brand shit just for headers and 450+ for name brand catback? get the ebay header catback combo, its the best price and great quality:thumb:

anyone know how much HP gain i would be looking at? Only other thing i got is a 3' CAI

with a header test pipe and catback, your probably looking at no more than 7 or 8 horses over stock...which is why you dont want to pay alot of money for name brand shit. too much money for little power... the 420a is weak stock, no bolt on is going to get you alot of power.. unless you get a turbo kit, nitrous or a rebuild...

currently i am in the middle of an all motor rebuild, eagle rods, wiseco high comp pistons, crower valve springs and retainers, aem cams, crower stsge 2 cams ect...

so go ebay...

Those eBay headers with the slide in header-to-DP are prone to leaking. I've seen that quite a few times where people complain about the fitment there not being anyway decent and leaking. Not only will you lose power then, but also dirty up the engine bay really quickly. The kinds with the actual flanges are the best and I highly recommend those. I've had one from eBay with the flanges for about 3 years now and have not had a single leak or problem with them. Just a thought.
