I Have Been Looking On Ebay Alot Latly, What Are Your Opinions On Like, Fmic Kits, Turbo Kits, Etc... All The Bolt On Stuff

All My Friends Seem To Tell Me Its All Junk But Idk. Anyone Have A Good Expeirences With It Let Me Know

Your treading in some very rough water, my friend.
Search around on these forums, and you'll find thousands of opinons, praises, and horror stories.
If you have a specific item in mind, and you would like an opinon on, that's great.
But, stereotyping and generalizing all ebay items doesn't work.
IE, Some are Great, Some are okay, and some go boom!

I know of about a dozen people running there tubular manifolds for about a year with zero problems. As far as the front mount goes. It's a touchy subject down here in AZ because if you look at the 2g FMIC kit and you look at say an AGP Race intercooler for $850 it's the EXACT same. We realized this when a friend bought one to replace his AGP one and the cores were stamped the same and everything. The company's that are on eBay now are basically the companies that supply some of the performance stores in the U.S.

You have to do your research when you shop Ebay, make sure you check there feed back and I have had good experience so far, knock on wood. I have been running a few Ebay parts and they have been treating me good. Thanks, Keith.

I would stay away from something THAT cheap. I would go with the Megan Racing one. It is 1:1 and has been proven reliable. That just seems to be a little to cheap to be any good. Probably not rising rate.

Typically what I've seen on this board, as well as 3si, is that ebay parts are cheap, and work, but they may not be as reliable as another party.

The intercoolers seem to almost all be identical, but if you follow the 1g ic install thread in the turbo forum, you'll see it's not all plug and play yet. The design is getting better and better though as the makers get more feedback.

The manifolds I don't know if I'd be willing to try out. I was thinking about purchasing, simply because it's a super low price, but under the stress of a turbo it will most likely crack. They don't have the same support as other vendor manifolds. Plus one of the manifolds I looked at came with a 4 bolt 40mm wastegate flange, which you can't find virtually anywhere.

As far as some generic parts go, I'd say ebay is a good place to go. Oil catch cans. Blow off valves seem to work well but leak slightly, but better seals can fix that.

I wouldn't purchase an ebay turbo though. I draw the line there :)

Very true. You know what could happen when you buy there stuff.

Filters, intake pipes, catback exhausts, downpipes, EBCs, mbcs, Wix oil filters, clamps, couplers, hoses, steering wheels, hubs, fmics, fmic kits, ic pipes, bovs, short shifters.

Hell is upon is, soon those evo iii 16g clones will be proven reliable, YIKES, and someone can build up a "reliable" "fast" dsm all out of ebay parts, assuming all the regular maintenance ont he car itself has been kept up.

My black car was build all on what RRE told us to buy. Then I soon started replacing parts with ebay parts. my real hks ssqv, my real greddy type s, to the hks ssqv knockoff. It works, and it works good. My Greddy big fmic, it worked, sold it, made a profit, got the xs kit, it works, works better, better everything. k&n fpik, cant beat that it has a carb sticker. For $100 I better get that. Now my red gsx beater, ebay filter and adapter for 18 bucks shipped. Works like it should. My friend's GS-T, 3" turboback exhaust shipped for $350. Full stainless steel, new bolts, clean welds, mandrel bent, comes with silencer, new gaskets. Compared it to my RRE downpipe, and Greddy PE catback, also 3", but not stainless steel, a lot more expensive. Only negative about ebay turboback, necks down where it connects cat to catbck, but whoa, same thing with the greddy pe catback.

My uncle's 98 gs-t, bought him the injen knockoff, $60 shipped, comes with less attracting black pipe instead of polished, which IMO is better here in cali. Even comes with an extra filter adapter.

I have the real B&M ss on my black car, you better believe I will be getting the ebay knock-off for my beater. I guess I'm in the position to test them out. I have experienced the brand name expensive stuff, I'll be the guinea pig to test out the knockoffs.

You can even buy 97-99 bumpers for cheap!

Ahh, Team EBAY at the next shootout, whos it going to be.

I'm rocking an ebay FMIC kit and i love it. The intercooler piping was a little goofy but i just cut them up a little bit and it is perfect... I would do it again...

Ebay is a marketplace, NOT a vendor. I've bought more parts from ebay than any other single source, some from private sellers, some from high volume Asian knock-off sellers, some from American comanies that found they could generate more sales on ebay than conventional sales chanels. These days I usually check ebay first for almost anything I buy, even if just as a price check.

My buddy bought an alarm locally last week. $160, brand new, lifetime warranty, not installed. A basic alarm, from a guy that owns a shop he knows.

After installing it in his car with him I grew a fondness for it and ebayed it. $60 shipped to my door, BNIB, WITH the same lifetime warranty. Wow.

The #1 BEST way to buy off ebay is to find a product on a reputable website, copy and paste the model number into ebay and see what you find. In some cases (like the infamous ebay FMICs), this doesn't work, but in alot of cases you'll find alot of good, quality, inexpensive stuff.

Just do your research, check the feedback, and try searching for the product/member name on these forums. You'll usually find SOMETHING.

Personally I love ebay buy everything from there the only thing I stay away from on ebay are crucial engine parts like timing components and internal engine parts. Stuff like mufflers, intakes, clutches ,downpipes, ect are really good.
