Ebay Downpipe, good or bad?

Seems alot like the apexi, but i know i know you get what you pay for. It looks ok for what 150 bucks? Reason im even considering it is because i was recently scammed on the trader for 150 bucks on and n1 downpipe and im absolutely desperate to get this 3" exhaust on ASAP!!!! Let me know if u guys would even consider it.

I bought my downpipe off e-bay for $150 and it was awesome. Great quality and I haven't had any problems with it at all. I don't remember the seller I got mine from, but their website is www.RVMRacing.com. Hope that helps.

It says it's made from 304 stainless and with mandrel bends, that is good. But the thing I would worry about is they say it's 2.5" inlet with 3" piping and 3" outlet. Look at the pic, if that is the one for the eclipse(which it looks like it) the first part looks like 2.5" until right after the flex section you can see it necks out. That is actually fine because when the gases are still hot that early in the exhaust they are at their most compressed state, RRE makes theirs the same way. But the kicker is look at where the last flange is..... the pipe necks back down, if it necks back down to 2.5" then the 3" piping is worthless.

By the looks of that pic, it looks like its 2.5" piping from the O2 housing to the flex section, goes into a 2.5" flex, then 3" piping comes outta the flex and goes back. You can see where the 3" piping after the flex is bent in a bit so it fits the flex section end. Also you can see a bigger and smaller gasket in that bag. Looks real nice though. Just depends on if you are willing to run that little bit of 2.5" piping instead of 3". I personally wouldn't, but if you have a more mild setup then maybe you'd be just fine with that.

so is this a yes or no guys im in need if i should do this or not. Oh and do you think that since that last flange is 2.5" that it wont bolt up to 3" catback, but then i looked at the gasket it and it looked 3", so i think it should fit my 3" greddy evo exhaust i hope.

I have that one. I havent ran the car yet. It didnt quite bolt up to my 02 housing either. I had to bore out the holes on the 02 flange a bit more b/c they wouldnt fit onto the 02 housing bolts. I am cutting off the end where it goes back to 2.5" and just running 3" back. As for the 2.5" first bend, thats what RRE runs on their downpipes and they have an explanation on their site as to why they run it. But I have an Evo3 02 housing sitting here and I want to get a new 3" all the way back d/p sometime soon.

I am gonna post an update on this particular MEGAN RACING DOWNPIPE. I purchased mine for just a tad over $100 shipped. The quality looks great but the frickin thing has some issues. First of all its longer than it should be by about 3". I actually cut my exhaust because it had an even smaller flange but still if you didn't have to problem I had you would need to cut the DP itself to mate it with a normal length exhaust.

Secondly it does bolt to the O2 housing fine but there is a third bolt that mounts on the block. The flange for that third bolt didn't line up. I cut that flange off.

Lastly the flex pipe it hard pressed agains the tranny which isn't good because its gonna heat the tranny fluid up. I haven't figured out a fix for this yet. I may just use header wrap to insulate that area of pipe.

All in all. I would NOT purchase the megan racing downpipe. Its FUBAR!

That's the first negative review I've seen about a Megan Racing downpipe. I have one and I think it's great, so you are definitely the first person I've seen complain.

I have it and love it.... check ebay for one, got mine for like 120 shipped or something like that. Helps quite a bit over stock and had a 3" N1 that lagged a lot. IMOP this is great for the price and could be more and Id still buy it.

~Edit~ Mine fit perfectly, no cutting or hassle... took about 20mins to swap out the stocker and this one.. but maybe the GST was measured better then the GSX DP. Who knows

Mine for my TSi AWD was perfect, although I didn't use that third bolt by the O2 housing anyways. (Not that it wouldn't fit, I snapped the bolt off.)
