ebay fuel regulator good or bad?

I was looking at this regulator off of ebay. To me, it doesnt look very bad, plus it has a gauge on it. The only thing that worries me is that ins only $40 after shipping, and that it is basically an "ebay" product. Has anybody used these? are they good? Would you buy this?

i know you get what you pay for, but i just dont see how exactly a fuel regulator could mess up. I mean....a boost controller, a turbo, anything electronic then yes. But a regulator????? OR...Should i just say F**K it and spend the extra $50-$120 to get an Aeromotive, or somethin?????

Get the Aeromotive. This FPR is hit or miss; sure some people may have good luck with it, but then there are also the others who haven't.

You wouldn't want to blow up your engine because you ran too lean after the FPR failed.

A few people that have bought them have also said that it can't keep a consistent idle fuel pressure.

I would go with the name brand parts on anything dealing with your engine. Especially something a crucial as your fuel system.

Yeah, it's true that usually you "get what you pay for" but that's not always the case.

40 bucks sounds "too good to be true" but Fuel Pressure Regulators are relatively simple designs. I'd rather see everyone buying quality parts like Aeromotive, or the Buschur AFPR, but let's face it, that's not always possible for everyone.

I'm not out to tell you what you should or shouldn't buy - but if this looks like something you might want to try out, go for it.

I actually picked up an Ebay AFPR for super cheap recently. I was planning on dissecting it and posting my findings...Just to clear the air on this once and for all (I've seen several threads about this same product, and all were inconclusive as far as quality or usability are concerned).

Not sure if I would trust this piece for the "long haul", but if you're looking for a cheap temporary AFPR, I might give it a shot. Just keep an eye on it.

Agreed.

I fear the downfall of this AFPR may be found within the internal diaphragm; similar to why the knock-off BOVs (like the Type-S "style") eventually fall apart.

if it were to fail i would see it delivering more fuel not less...

spend the extra money for something thats reputable, and then you will save yourself a cost of new motor down the line. If its too good to be true than don't do it.

Don't waste you money. I tried one of these.....it is junk. I couldn't adjust the base pressure....stayed at 75 psi, and it doesn't raise 1:1 with boost. I thought it might have just been the guage, so i swapped it, an nothing changed.
