Ebay Fuel Filters

I have been doing a lot of research peicing together a fuel system for my DSM. I am running an E316G with E85. I am nearing the limits of the stock fuel filter and have been looking at alternatives to expensive fuel filters. What do you guys think about this one? I have seen another thread comparing the aeromotive afpr and the really cheap looking imitation. This OBX one looks to be better quality but want to know what you guys think. OBX Universal Bypass Fuel Pressure Regulator -6AN Male | eBay

Russell isn't an eBay fuel filter, it's just being sold on eBay. For the most part they make good quality filters.

Probably because you aren't looking at the size of that filter. It is probably 1/4th the size if not smaller of the fuel filter you should be using. That is more of an additional filter to supplement your main one or for a smaller system.

Most people don't shop around. Also, for the FPR, just pick up a used aeromotive unit from the classified's here. I wouldn't go with any OBX product, with better options available.

Funny you say that, I just picked up a used aeromotive on the classifieds last night.

As far as the filter goes I think I am going to try this Russel one. Im aware that it may be small but it is a very simple device and should suffice.

Don't forget you're going to need to run a stainless element, as e85 will destory a paper element.

The Russel filter has a 40 micron ss filter element.

I just saw these fuel filters for the first time the other day, They also look like a good unit for the price. However it is only rated to 75psi so under full stock boost you are near the edge of this rating. And if you run manly boost your fuel pressure will exceed it.

It is still about half the size of my Fuel Lab filter with a SS element that I run. I like the extra filter surface area to reduce maintenance intervals and since if the filter clogs and fuel is cut out you stand a good chance of melting a piston from a lean condition.

FYI: The Russel one can also be had from Summit and it will be cheaper than the ebay one after shipping.

I already ordered the Russel one for $35.83 so Im pretty happy about that. It is a two piece unit with a cleanable/replaceable filter. I plan on checking it regularly to avoid clogging.
