ebay exhaust systems?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

It's funny how quickly people can criticize something when they have no personal experience with it.

There's a GIANT ebay exhaust thread somewhere around here. A bit of searching wouldn't hurt.

Exactly.:thumb:

Even though the pictures are different this appears to be the same exhaust that japanimportshop sells on ebay. Quite a few guys have tried it and overall they all had positive things to say about it. You can see pictures here:

It's 3" so you know it's going to flow well regardless- too many bends being restrictive isn't really an issue on a street-driven car. If you get a system made at an exhaust shop to go under the axle on your GST, you're going to drag it turning into any parking lot. For a street car, I would choose fitment and price over functionality.

You probably meant "performance" as opposed to "functionality" as over the axle will be much more functional but the decrease in performance due to the extra bends will likely not even be noticeable on a street driven car. I completely agree with what you are saying.:)

I got over 300hp on my car and everything in the engine is top of the line, BUT my exhaust is still from e-bay and yes the whole kit delivered to mu house was $152, and it still sounds good. who cares its an exhaust and on a turbo car u dont need back pressure anyways .

It looks like cheap shit with too many bends which causes restrictions. Personally Apexi/HKS/Greddy it just for their name. Just go to an exhaust shop and custom built a straight pipe exhaust for real performance.

all the shops i see make pressbent curves, how can you say that would be better than mandrel bends, SS 304 stainless chrome exhaust. a muffler shop would charge 1000 for a similar setup. why do so many people recommend midas shop shit? i dont understand...exhaust building is not rocket science.

btw, my $$$ HKS has this steel wool stuff coming out of the muffler, I keep pulling pieces out, to me ....this is junk.

thanks jusmx141, I think you've made my decision, I am going to buy it! thanks for the input. my car is 100% street, if I were track, I would dump out the front driver's side bumper.

Looks like you've made your decision. Post up a video clip after you have installed the exhaust on your car.

When it comes to performance parts(with me anyways) if two different parts do the same job and one is cheaper price. I know what I would do, continue buying parts because stuff like hks and greddy cost them the same to make the parts. You just paid more for the name and what they accomplished on the track. (Hey that supra just ran a 10.99 and had a hks exhaust.) I like underdog, kinda why I own a dsm and not a honda, toyota, etc, etc.

I say buy it, it looks better than my xtune and has 2 resonators. If you don't like the sound you can change the muffler and get a flow master or whatever. Its just an exhaust as long as it does its job it doesn't matter.

If you buy it and have fitment issures, take it to an exhaust shop and have them tweak it as necessary to work. Unfortunately most shops around here anyways do hit you pretty hard to modify because you bought it somewhere else.

Am I the only one that doesn't see how these pipes would even line up on a 2g?

Apparently so.

If you look at the full assembled picture of it, you'll see that towards the muffler can, the exhaust hangers are pointed down. It's just rotated the wrong way. ;)

Anyways, when it boils down to it, exhaust pipe is exhaust pipe, so long as the bends are the same (i.e. both mandrel and both are of equal length, shape, size).

I got mine from nissangtrpower. Full 3", hasn't rusted, all stainless, really quiet.

I just saw the juicy and was wondering about them

BTW, whats your car lowered with?

For those that bought the catback from japanimportshop:
How many resonators did it come with?

Basically what I am looking at doing. I would have bought a tubing kit, but it's alot more money by the time you buy the resonators. So I figure I can run this one for a bit then buy another muffler and weld it on. I like the look of the magnaflow with the single 3" in and dual 2.5" out stainless tips.
